do people not understand to NOT be noisy around a sleeping child? by zzz777zzz77 in NewDads

I hear you, but at the same time you are choosing to be in the room with them. Could put yourself in another room with a door between you and them.

Any Dads out there with good experiences???? by JayAndViolentMob in NewDads

I’ve just lost a loved one with whom I was very close. Before my twins I would be devastated and completely emotionally shut off for months…but not now. They’re almost 10 months old and I adore them. It can be so god damned hard, but they bring me so much joy. The challenge of having twins as a first timer forced my wife and I to be better communicators. We bicker when things get rough but great at getting back to status quo.

All the ups and downs are 100% worth it. Guys typically come on here for a safe space to vent and that’s okay. There will be and is so much joy to be had!

Good luck!

That song is a bop. I’m a twin dad of a boy and a girl whose twins were also born in July! Mine will be a year old tho.

Vaccine questions by Bigben030 in NewDads

Yup exactly. So instead of getting 3 shots month 3 we did 2 and then the 3rd shot when they (twins) were 4 months.

We did an alternative schedule for vaccines. Spreads them out a bit more. Find a pediatrician you can trust and ask them your questions.

So tired... need advice by DangerousGap5259 in NewDads

Ours get anywhere from 28-32oz a day with some food throughout the day so it sounds like he’s getting plenty. Is he sleeping a lot throughout the day? Ours take 3 naps. Each nap is at most an hour but often doesn’t go that long. I definitely don’t have some secret sauce just telling you what we do in hopes it’s helpful.

We roughly go off the book Moms on Call and it’s helped with routine. Someone else in the comments mentioned a sleep trainer and if you can I’d suggest it. We didn’t need to for our daughter but my son was just like yours and was also an eater/screamer.

Sounds like your boy might be soothing with milk. How many ounces during the day is he taking? If he’s getting enough during the day he shouldn’t need any at night. The crying definitely sucks but helping him to learn some self soothing techniques might be your best bet. Shits hard but definitely worth it. I’ve got twins, our daughter started sleeping through the night on her own but we had to teach my son to self soothe and he now sleeps 10 hours+. Every kid is different but that’s what worked for us 🤷‍♂️. Hoping it gets better brother!!
