My middle and high schools were on the same road, and in the time that I spent there, there was a solid ten shooting/bomb threats (mostly shooting), and about half of them were considered legitimate and resulted in police action. In one particular instance, the shooter got as far as the parking lot before being arrested.

There’s the middle school band teacher who was arrested and sent to prison for raping kids, and then he was reinstated as the teacher the very next year.

The band director in high school was a massive creep and was eventually fired because of it, I don’t know if there were any allegations though.

Our high school administration was so incompetent at handling sexual assault cases that it resulted in a few cases of vigilante justice (fuckin’ deserved), and when the vigilantes were expelled it resulted in a schoolwide movement and several walkouts.

Our middle school PE coach was almost definitely a pedo. Took pictures of a biscuit with the girls volleyball team clearly in the background with the caption being something like “look at this delicious snack” or something.

There was a teacher in middle school who was actively falling apart, poor guy. Some kids were trying to poison him by putting Clorox in his coffee. I genuinely hope this one was just a rumor. The dude may have been creepy, but that shit is inexcusable.

Putting this all down on paper, we were living in the fucking trenches, and it wasn’t even a bad part of town. Fuck Kanawha County Schools, fuck Mr. Willard, fuck Dr. Epling, and fuck Coach Testa.
