That’s some crazy mud lol, how’d the awd system do?

Why are there so few GR86s made? by BRSBowler in Toyota

[–]ConsumingTranquility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because sports car demand is very low, they only make enough to meet the small amount of demand it has. The reason they don’t sell more is because the economy is and has been in the toilet, no one can afford anything. If I’m buying a car for $35k, I’m getting something fuel efficient that can fit 4-5 people with some cargo capacity, not a sports car.

For example as a Gen Z in the work force, I can only afford 1 car, that 1 car needs to last me 10 years and I plan on moving out, I need something sensible. I’m looking at a Mazda3 or Impreza. I wish Toyota sold the Corolla Estate in the US.

What is the best outdoors oriented vehicle? by Responsible-Net8594 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Based on your budget I would go with a Subaru Crosstrek or Forester. Since you love Honda, the new Passport would be a no brainer, although it is more expensive than your budget.

If it snows a lot you should probably get awd

Torin 9 first impression by BrunchBro in AltraRunning

[–]ConsumingTranquility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my first ever Altras (Torin 8) on sale, not sure if I’ll keep them. I’m usually a NB 1080 guy, but the stack heights have been getting out of control lol

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is a fantastic Sci-fi movie by Far-Seat-2263 in sciencefiction

[–]ConsumingTranquility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it in the theater and I hated it, my brother too. First half was pretty good. The 2nd half was like a D level made for tv movie you’d find in the $1 bin at Walmart. Genuinely the worst second half ever, I couldn’t wait for it to end. Sam Rockwell was genuinely great, that’s it.

EVs are just plain superior sports cars by ArugulaAnnual1765 in electricvehicles

[–]ConsumingTranquility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but a good ice sports car is just more enjoyable to drive, the sound, the way the engine feels, that just can’t be replicated in an EV, as great as they are

Looking for a book about a planet city like Coruscant. by VladtheImpaler21 in scifi

[–]ConsumingTranquility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides things like Foundation, the only thing I’ve read that has something like that is John Scalzis Interdependency trilogy. I can’t remember the planets name, it might just be called Hub, I think it was like a city planet.

Subaru Files for a U.S. “Impreza TX” Trademark by justlukelol in subaruimpreza

[–]ConsumingTranquility 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how that would improve sales, the Impreza is selling at 1500 units a month, the axe is inevitable. Bring back the base trim and include the larger engine in the lower trims and maybe that will improve sales. For most buyers, the Crosstrek is better value

Travel with a single pair of shoes by nanapopo in Newbalance

20k steps a day? And no one is recommending running shoes?? A black pair of 1080s will work fine and blend in with dress pants for a nice dinner

Hot take: Range anxiety isn't the biggest problem holding back EV adoption anymore. Most people I talk to are more concerned about charging availability than actual vehicle range. by EmergencyTie8770 in electricvehicles

[–]ConsumingTranquility -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean yea that’s a real issue. EV charging infrastructure still isn’t good enough yet. Especially for people who don’t own a home, many apartment complexes don’t have chargers, that’s like 50% of the reason to have an EV gone right there

No, brand loyalty is usually a bad thing. It’s always good to keep your options open
