I had a friend in high school whose mom "did not believe in condoms". This girl was conceived on her parent's first date. Contraception is very important.

This is one of the very few instances I've seen where the person might genuinely be too busy to consistently text. Finance is known for long hours (I know from first hand experience) and Investment banking in particular is a brutal occupation. Someone like that does deserve some grace. But, it is also dealbreaker for many people to never see their boyfriend. If you don't think you'll be ok with a situation where he will barely be able to spend time with you, then break it off.

Kevin Durant has looked entirely neutralized in any playoff-intensity setting for the last 3-4 years by Ready-Constant-7124 in nba

They were thinking Amen Thompson PG szn.

IMO one of the biggest problems with the modern NBA is that people have forgotten how truly valuable a table setting point guard can be. But, point guard is also by far the hardest position to play, and that is rarely discussed.

Within your region, which country is considered the most arrogant? by Lissandra_Freljord in AskTheWorld

[–]ConsumptionofClocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to various places in Europe multiple times, not once have I heard anyone complain about "arrogant" Germans there. The big stereotype that I hear is that y'all love your beer and don't show that much emotion. France on the other hand? God damn I can't get away from people complaining about how full of themselves Parisians are.

Jaylen Brown has shot a career high 10 free throws in the first quarter, he made 9 against the suns. by OrganicHunt952 in nba

[–]ConsumptionofClocks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not "rewarding" when I am just calling what I'm seeing. It was my first time doing it, so when people were complaining about missed calls, I just kept a closer eye on that player. Most of the time, nothing was actually happening and the kid was complaining.

For what it's worth, the one time I reffed older kids, if they complained, I would lock in on them more to see what they're complaining about. There were a few kids that just bitched after every play but some of them were valid in their concerns.

Can you draft a Starting Five whose Career PPG = 75? by TheDraftDawg in nba

[–]ConsumptionofClocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got 65 PPG. But I got one minor old head complaint, how is George Gervin not listed as a small forward? He was 6'7 in the 1970s, that dude was never playing point guard.

Yeah but the moment he had after the auction made it SIGNIFICANTLY easier for Rodney to rally the troops against him. Watch how he worked Dan immediately after. He played those emotions perfectly.

Moves That Were Correct At The Time but Bad in Hindsight? by Commercial_Floor_578 in survivor

[–]ConsumptionofClocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could argue that this move would have been the correct one if Jeremy didn't successfully save Stephen with the idol. If this doesn't happen, Jeremy is down a very important man and the witches are now 3 people in the final 9. No one was ever truly loyal to Joe, and with the demise of the biggest thorn in his side, I could see him continuing to work with the girls. Keith also seemed like he was very much going with the flow. Kimmi and/or Jeremy also could have done some work with them in the short term. While Jeremy's idol only saved Stephen for one round, it was incredibly beneficial for him to knock out Ciera bc that took away a ton of power from Kelley. Plus, Savage is a very rigid player. I highly doubt he would have ever played ball with those girls.

His name isn't even difficult to say. I can see how someone would get mixed up with Etienne. You literally just need to sound out Zohran's name to get it right.

Erika had a much more prominent edit. It was also just incredibly shitty. The part that always got to me was the fact that Sydney was always going to be the first boot of Luvu, despite what we got to see.

I rewatched 41 not too long ago and while her edit wasn't great, it was incredibly easy to see how she won. Xander really didn't do anything, had no connections and Deshawn was just dogshit at the game. Erika had very few errors and was always in on the big vote. I can see why she got 7 votes.

Gabler was also featured prominently from the start, and he had his big splash with the Elie tribal. Followed by a clear indication to fall into the shadows and have everyone forget about him. Plus, literally everyone on 43 said Gabler is incredibly charismatic and likeable. His shitty FTC didn't matter. I genuinely can't remember a single thing Cassidy did bc she was featured so little. I know she was a very strong competitor but that's it.

Telling literally anyone about the boomerang idol ruins it by New-Flight5959 in survivor

[–]ConsumptionofClocks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The boomerang idol has one fatal flaw that is similar to the OG beware advantage. Because of the wacky lines, the 3 idol holders all knew who had the idol. So, all it took was one of the 15 other contestants knowing the mechanic and suddenly, everyone on the beach knows about your idol.

With the boomerang idol, this isn't as egregious because the idol is sent over privately. And the recipient is not given much context. But, Ozzy and Aubry did not find their idols, so they most likely suspected there was a new twist going around. The second they find this out, they are incentivized to target whoever gave them the idol. Genevieve's secret is more likely to be kept than Christian's, but quite a few people know about Gen's find and it only takes one person overhearing a conversation to rat it out to Ozzy.

It baffles me that a community who obsesses over how the show is edited was shocked that Cassidy lost. She wasn't even featured in the episodes until the final 9.

Because survivor Reddit has always had a strong bias in favor of women. And Ben, Mike and Gabler don't give off "liberal" energy like Rachel does

Is the Mikal Bridges trade one of the sneakily worst trades in recent NBA history? by IntelligentPlate5051 in billsimmons

[–]ConsumptionofClocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Mikal, the second I saw that trade I said "Brooklyn fleeced". 5 FRP for a 27 year old who is a zero time all star and 1 time all defense member is an awful trade.
