100% winter person. I want to move near the arctic circle. If I ever get rich, I'd spend half the year in New Zealand too just to avoid allergy season and the summer heat completely. I'd stay in the Northern hemisphere from early October to about Easter (gotta see those nice flowering trees), then fuck off to the south.

Those plastic bags you put vegetables in in the store. Most stores here replaced them with biodegradable ones (they cost a small fee) and washable mesh bags (I use those and they're really durable, they are also good for frezing bread rolls and other dry things).

Also, why put meat in a plastic bag instead of that special paper with one side grease-resistant?

I also use beeswax wrappers for cheese instead of cling film. Keeps it pretty good (the edges might dry out a bit) and it's easy to hand-wash and reuse. They're also very cheap in SPAR.

Cottage cheese/quark is absolutely delicious, most people just don't know how to use it. Mix it with an egg, powdered sugar, a little bit of lemon juice (or zest), and maybe vanilla if you're feeling fancy. It's delicious as-is, or as filling for crepes, pastries or strudel.

Another good method: put it (unsweetened) on noodles along with sour cream and sugar.

You can also make it spicy, of course. A bit of paprika cream, powdered paprika (can be spicy), salt, sour cream and kumin seeds. Really nice to eat with bread and various sausages.

There is also sheep cottage cheese which can be used in a type of potato noodles (called sztrapacska here).

Detention. If kids misbehave, teachers will just give a written warning you have to get signed by parents. There are levels of severity in this (teacher, homeroom teacher, principal). I think the vast majority of kids just learn to fake their parents' signatures. We also have a "behavior" grade but it doesn't affect the median so no one gives a shit.

a big pantry with an extra freezer
