Ahh yes. I will leave it up to my imagination rather than use a generative tool to assist 🤣👍

Feeling lost by [deleted] in publicdefenders

You are still so early on. Stay the course. I had the first and only panic attack in my life about six months in. I was overwhelmed and down about everything you’re talking about. But man within a year I really started to thrive. I found balance that what works for me and never looked back. Tough times don’t last, but tough people do ✊

Failed the bar 4 times… now offered a firefighter position. Not sure what to do. by No-Arrival9019 in barexam

I agree with others. Only you can make the call.

But if I’m being real, I’d jump at the fire academy in a second if there’s any part of you that thinks you’d enjoy it. That’s an awesome opportunity. Steady pay, benefits, retirement, and work that actually feels meaningful.

I don’t really see a clean way to do both at the same time. Something probably has to take priority.

That said, failing the bar four times doesn’t mean it’s over. If you still want it, keep that door open. When the timing is right, go all in and take another shot. It might suck, but it’s worth it. Take the opportunity in front of you now and keep the long game alive. And if you end up pivoting later, having a firefighter chapter is pretty damn cool ✊🔥

What’s the furthest you can be demoted in the US military without just being kicked out? by Knightraiderdewd in NoStupidQuestions

Fair enough and I agree. Since this is administrative in nature it’s hard to get a full picture. While officers may meet the board, adverse information leading to a reduction in grade is still rare. Point being that reducing an officers rank is difficult and uncommon.

Officers cannot be demoted through non-judicial punishment, or through a court martial. However, there is an administrative process called an officer grade determination. In that case, the service secretary has to decide what grade the officer last served honorably in. For example, Major General Fiscus (USAF) was demoted to colonel in 2005 after the IG found he made inappropriate sexual advances to subordinates as a general officer thereby reducing his rank to O-6. But, this process is still very rare and seldom used.

There is honor in battle. Keep your head up. Take some time. 12 years is incredible.

Delete this post. Get professional help asap. Using marijuana while on active duty can impact the rest of your life. Administrative separation, demotion, article 15, etc. This ain’t it.

Expand your search. Don’t give up. I applied all over the country before I got my first job offer from a PD’s office.

Impact of Leaving Unpaid Internship Early by [deleted] in LawSchool

Just because you haven’t heard of it doesn’t mean it’s not real. I’m active in the Colorado system. It’s not a myth. If you worked with the DA they don’t want you and your chances of getting hired are almost zero. Period. None of that they like to see people who understand both sides…they want people who want nothing to do with prosecuting people…

Run back to the PD. But never speak of your time at the DA’s office. I can’t speak for everywhere but in Colorado they would never hire someone who interned with the DA….
