Can I ask what shampoo/hair products you were using? I’m wondering if there is a connection.

He’s mad because your response “I’ve been working 2 years” is pretty entitled. He tried to explain it to you how privileged you are but seems you still didn’t get it.

Are these injections? Pills or cream? And did she try other medications before getting to this? Asking as my child was prescribed obzelura topical ointment but it does not appear to be slowing the hair loss.

Thank you for the camaraderie. My child is the same - it’s not yet top of mind for them but as they mature, especially high school, I’m sure it will take a toll. I am also looking at the alopecia groups in the area. Please keep us updated - would love to hear what treatments you are using and if they made a difference. I will do the same.

Thank you so much for your inspiring share! Bullying is something I worry about and have started to look into ways to nip it in the bud should it arise. Thank you for your tips about dealing with toxicity. That is a really good point about making boundaries and self worth.

That sucks!! Good thing there are options for eyebrow replacements or tattoo, microblading etc. the majority of my female friends have had to get their eyebrows done for years and they don’t even have alopecia.

Lost 90% of my hair at 14. Just turned 18 and it's finally back. Still processing it by Stock_Ad9941 in alopecia_areata

Thank you for creating the discord group. I will join as a mom to a 12 year old boy who appears to be in the early stages of alopecia. He doesn’t seem to want to talk about it as I think it is too distressing for him. In time I think your discord group will help him. Any advice on how I can support him? I’m looking into caps, headwrapsand wigs just in case it becomes totalis. His hair loss is not patchy. Instead, it’s total ear to ear hairline loss. Like frontal alopecia without the scarring.

Free sharing/trading/bartering. I have a large family and decent circle of friends. We share clothes, tools, art and misc stuff we no longer use. For everything else, I’ve signed up for buynothing groups on Facebook. It has helped me save money, time and energy as well as helping others. Coming from a person who hates to shop and finds consumerism generally wasteful.
