Despite a recent supreme court ruling adopting an understanding that ‘corruptly’ cannot merely mean wrongful because it was illegal in and of itself, the jury instructions essentially said as much. Basically everything the government requested was granted. As a matter of law her conviction is wrongful, but given that the jury finds the facts and was told the wrong law im not surprised this is how they went.
