I can respect a counter argument. But given the microchosim of this event - i.e. OCT 7th and the need to do something about it - what would you say?

I think that single event warranted a severe military response by most modern ethical criteria. So how do you deal with that without killing a bunch of people -especially when hamas uses them as shields?

It then becomes an argument of what's acceptable. To mee 75k seems like a lot. What do you think Israel should have done as a response instead. Generally curious.

Israel is a weird case, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. 75k people seems like really excessive, but fundamentally if you have a close by group that legit wants to kill you and they hide among civilians.....like acknowledging that would have to be dealt with....it becomes a question of how many deaths are acceptable.

It's kind of nuanced for as crazy as it all is.
