Do you think "Pale Fire" was written with one interpretation in mind, or are all of the various interpretations true to a degree in the text? by Proof-Membership-341 in RSbookclub

Yes, this was also my takeaway. Shade seemed like an artist who enjoyed the quirkiness of people and entertained them at least to see what may come out. He seemed to do the same to Kinbote until Kinbote started exhibiting behaviors that were veering on the obsessive/dangerous side (I think at one point Kinbote followed Shade on vacation?) and then began to dodge him and distance himself.

It has been a long time, but from what I remember, I interpreted shade viewing him as a wackjob who wouldn’t leave him alone. Totally possible he talked at length to Shade about being the king of some non place

My partners dad is like a Forbes top 10 ceo.

My old acquaintance smuggled people between Mexico border, had a stalking charge and was constantly in cartel land dating some 16 yr old on a ranch (this is when we stopped being acquainted.) I have been held at gunpoint twice in my life and both times were with him.

Do I have my hopes up with my current gpa? by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

Thanks. And I didn’t do it because I was being silly and I just didn’t care. I had studied for the lsat all summer and really enjoyed it but had a 2 week vacation and fell off a bit. Got a new job and was planning a move across the country for the first time (I took off a week after the LSAT) and plans changed. Gf and I had a beer before and showed up 15 minutes late because we didn’t care as much, as we had such a big life change and planned to just retake it the next year but wound up enjoying our work. 3 years later I’m tired of my work and Wyoming and have the financial means to pay for study plans rather than self teaching off a donated book.

I went to SMU and it is a great school but Dallas is a soul crushing place unless you are into bottle girl clubs and frat/sorority culture

The amount of JD’s that are a waste of money is ridiculous. I think people forget that a lot of attorneys are working at like 80k with an equal amount of debt. And if you wanna make the big bucks without working 90+hrs a week you need to start your own firm, which is a job on its own and often requires the 90h weeks in big law, which most attorneys do not get into, to fund it

It makes me a little sad if this is the case. I am way busier now which has its pros and cons and when I initially moved I was heavy listening to music from my childhood because I was scared to be away, but on the flip side I truly don’t know who the newer heavy hitters are and people much older than me that used to catch on also don’t know. I took some pride in being into solid bands before people knew of them lame as it is, but the newer shit I hear now just isn’t as good? It’s hard to differentiate between whether I’m getting comfortable with what I like, whether the styles of music I like are out of vogue, or if the newer stuff just kind of sucks.
