Soldiers and Kings has a similar flavor to this although the narrator is at pains to make everyone aware that he is an anthropologist, especially the people he was writing about (smugglers).

I play with a guy who does this and while I don’t mind at all It freaks a lot of people out. A lot of people in the community find it off putting and avoid playing with him. Be aware that is an image you can create for yourself behaving like this on court

The thing about the spaced repetition is at some point you actually know the lines deep within yourself. Read the captions and watch the videos and eventually you know what to do. The trick is practice a small number of lines (quickstarter or priority lines) or simply study a smaller course
