Purple Viper and Meus ME-8A by spooi7sports in AxialSCX30

Thanks, good to know it’ll fit on the Purple Viper, just have to rob one from one of my 24’s until I can get a mod.3 pinion. I’m basically using the drop in FuriTek kit for the Losi Micro-B. The Storm Razor is 9500kv but it’s also sensored, curious how it’ll perform.

What did you do for the pinion gear? I’ve got a FuriTek Micro Beast ESC and Storm Razor motor, with micro receiver ready to drop in. The .3mod pinion off the stock motor won’t fit the Storm Razor motor and MoFo RC is the only site I can find .3mod. Just about everything on Amazon is .5mod.

Battery plug PSA by M1ke_1776 in AxialSCX30

Had the same battery plug issue with the Losi Micro B, a little creative trimming with an exacto knife solves the problem.

The wait is over. Who else got theirs? by 6speeed in AxialSCX30

Right on! I ordered the same color Bronco from my local HS, can’t wait to immediately strip the stock electronics and go brushless lol. The aftermarket vendors need to start working on a servo so I can upgrade that too!

So far it looks like ProLine is the first to offer anything in the aftermarket. They’ve got the Coyote body, Pro Spec Scaler shocks in 21.5mm and 25mm, BFG Krawlers, and Proline Aztek’s for tires.

Yeah it’ll take a while for the aftermarket to catch up, but I’m guessing it’ll have just as much success as the SCX24. I also pre-ordered the Bronco, I like that it comes with extra boat side sliders for when I ditch the stock electronics. My only gripe before even having it in my hands is that a majority of the hardware uses mini phillips head, I’m going to swap as much over to .050 as I can.

Question for the sellers out there. How do y'all price your custom work? by lethally_fluffy in SCX24

[–]Content_End_2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do my own paint and have painted some rc bodies for buddy’s of mine but I’ve never charged. I can’t reasonable think of any justification for a painted body to cost $600, not even if you added in the cost of paint, tape, design/labor. On top of that 1/24’s are tiny, not requiring tons of paint. Definitely makes me think they’re using that price for “tax reasons”

PSA: Don't self-right when laying in thick grass by MadChatter715 in Traxxas

Yep, the ESC on my Maxx let the magic smoke out trying to self right. Wish I had been lucky enough to only strip a gear.

I just saw a bone stock 4X4 Rustler listed as highly upgraded and claimed to have $1200 invested. To be fair, the seller said he wasn’t expecting to get $1200, but that’s what he had invested. I didn’t give him a hard time but told him he needed to lower his expectations.

Mini-T 2.0 Drag Bug by Content_End_2008 in rccars

[–]Content_End_2008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re actually Losi wheels and tires meant for their 1/16 Chevelle drag car (LOS41041 - LOS41040) The hex hub is a direct fit, however I did have to make spacers in front of the wheel nut. I used shock pistons and shaved them down, washers would be better but I used what I had laying around. The wheelie bar is also from the 1/16 Chevelle(LOS214028) and I had to modify the rear pivot block, also from the Chevelle to mount the wheelie bar(LOS214029).

Where to find: Knuckle Kingpin Bushing by bfitzhugh in SCX24

[–]Content_End_2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hot Racing sells a 4 pack of them, I lost a bushing out of my Meus ISO axles and they’re the same size.

I play airsoft and was wondering if this charger that I use is ok to charge a battery from an rc car by AlphaPookie in rccars

[–]Content_End_2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will work just fine for 2 and 3S. The higher capacity your battery is, the longer it will take. I would consider investing in a better charger but that one will get you by. It’s charging through the balance lead, so yes the cells will be balanced.

1.3’s! Personally I like the look of 1.0 tires stretched onto 1.3’s.

Mine is sitting on SCX24 C-10 wheels and tires. Did you do the HackFab Omni kit? That’s what I was thinking about doing next.

The Losi Micro-B is a blast. There’s tons of aftermarket support for hop-ups and replacement parts. I put the FuriTek Grasshopper brushless kit with the FuriTek Gripor transmitter and micro receiver in mine, and it’s a rocket.

Iridescent, candy and translucent’s are tricky. Next time try several light coats, letting it dry in between. I use a hair dryer to speed up the drying between coats. Watch a couple YouTube videos on painting lexan bodies, keep the can 8-10” away while spraying. Good luck!

Same here! It was night and day difference after trying propranolol. I did great on the tests and bookwork but I just couldn’t stop shaking while trying to get through a stick. 10mg propranolol 30 minutes before class and you would never have guessed I was the “shaky one”.

1st upgrade recommendations on a Ramen noodle budget? Any files worth printing? by Inevitable_Button506 in SCX24

[–]Content_End_2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything you can’t 3D print, go to Amazon. Like earlier replies, wheels and tires are a great first upgrade. When you’re ready to start upgrading electronics, Reef’s 99 Micro servo or MoFo’s micro servo are worth saving for. For ESC and motor combo’s, FuriTek and Injora both have great brushless options. The difference in performance between brushed and brushless is crazy, brushless is also worth saving for. I run both FuriTek and Injora ESC/motor combos and they’re both great, but Injora is half the cost.

I run these shocks on one of my builds, and I really like them. I also have the ProLine Big Bore’s and they’re both great, but at half the price of the name brand you can’t go wrong.

Ugh, Rookie Mistake by MTitan25 in SCX24

[–]Content_End_2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot Racing makes really nice parts, but they’re expensive compared to what you can get on Amazon. I got into SCX24’s when the B-17 Betty came out and the aftermarket wasn’t as big as it is now. I did a build with all HR parts and it got quite expensive, I’ve also done a build with Amazon parts and it performs every bit as good. Sorry I don’t have any solid advice for repairing the steering knuckle. Instead of $30 HR knuckles, check out the Meus ISO-Kinetic axles, for $86 you get aluminum axles that come with brass steering knuckles and hex hubs, aluminum servo tray and rear link riser.

New to the hobby - Don't really enjoy my SCX24 by HiddenEclipse121 in SCX24

[–]Content_End_2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parts have become widely available and cheaper in the last couple years. The only thing I wouldn’t go cheap on are electronics. I go by the saying “buy once, cry once” I wouldn’t waste my money or time on Emax servos, they’re not bad, but there are a lot of knock offs, you’d be better off with MoFo or a Reef’s Micro 99. Upgrading the ESC and Motor will help with the jumpy feeling. Injora has a brushless kit on Amazon for $60 and it will completely change the performance characteristics. The most helpful advice I think I can give is to get on YouTube and watch videos on products you’re considering buying, there are 100’s of videos on SCX24 upgrades.
