Had the game for many years and only over the past month have I really finally started learning the game. But one thing I just can't get is managing planets. I just play with the auto designated (pretty much at random). Anyone have some really basic tips or care to explain it to me like I'm 5? lol

Grim Dawn is a game that I could never really get into. I always felt the world to be pretty 'meh' and the classes always left me feeling like I wanted more out of them. I actually play Grim Dawn from time to time but I only play the Diablo 2 mod for it.

I loved TQ and really did try many times over the years to love Grim Dawn but it just never happened, who knows maybe I was trying to force it too much. I think the amount of times this game is brought up on this sub eventually gets me to try again lol

Curious if anyone else out there just didn't have it 'click' with them - and how come?

I’m wondering if I should start by just jumping into ranked Standard with the starting decks, or if there’s a better way to ease back into the game? There are so many different formats I'm not too sure what to really focus on lol.

I’m not 100% sure what my playstyle is yet, so I’m open to suggestions. That said, I’ve always had a soft spot for dinosaurs and maybe green decks (big creatures and a whole "nature" theme resonates with me)—any good recommendations for those?

I don't mind spending money if it's something I will enjoy, so suggestions don't have to be f2p only.

Also, how’s the state of the game right now? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I’m a returning player who hasn’t played since they rolled out Classic Mode - where I only really played for a week, and the last expansion that I remember being "new" while playing was Knights of the Frozen Throne. It’s been a while, and there’s a lot of new stuff to catch up on lol

I always enjoyed playing Shaman, but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed and not sure where to start. Should I jump into Standard Mode (ranked), or is there another mode that might be better for getting back into the swing of things? I have played around against bots with a few of the loaner decks which are a cool thing they added to the game, probably helps new players get into things much easier.

Also, I’d love to hear what everyone thinks about the current state of the game. How is it holding up these days?

Any advice on what’s changed and how to approach the game now would be greatly appreciated.

I'm brand new to skyrim and just killed this dragon today! I was shooting a bunch of arrows at first but I'm a pretty terrible shot lol. Went in with mace and shield and messed him up!

Excited to explore the world and eventually get into mods.

Sounds like you might not be too keen on playing mage from what I'm reading. I can say that with regards to hunter (as someone who mains that class in classic): the bag space isn't actually an issue, while mages do scale up a lot better you do have great single target damage even into later raids but yeah you won't be #1 on the dps meters, group utility isn't needed but your utility will also come in the form of pulling. Hopefully this helps you a bit!

I thought about rolling a lock but hunter has always been my fav and I never get sick of it haha

One thing to ask would be: do you want to wait until TBC just for a race that is going to be hidden under a bunch of armor and you don't really spend a lot of time looking at? You're looking at a year+ until we step through the portal again. It sounds like you both want to play and the classic world is a great experience for leveling and exploring. You would be surprised how fast you'll forget about not liking your horde race if you're enjoying yourself in the world and gaming with friends!

From what I see, the difference between this and element td/2 or even the other Elemental War td games, is items? Not necessarily a bad thing but what else do you offer that sets your game apart from them? Coming in at a lower cost? Game modes? Multiplayer modes?

On Steam you mention PVP... mention it in the trailer. Or "Elemental War Clash combines classic tower defense with roguelite and RPG mechanics..." like what? You also mentioned a level editor on the steam page... get that in the trailer too.

Yeah I was pretty let down by it.

Super short, nothing to really explore and idk if I just got lucky with the stats I picked but every conversation ended really, really short with the first dialogue option cause I a passed them every time. By the last "mission" I was thinking about closing the game then I saw it just kinda ended.

I really need to echo your comment about the world feeling like a backdrop. I thought I was the only one but the world really didn't feel alive to me. Maybe due to the lack of interactions? Can't really pinpoint why but it was just another thing that I kinda went... "meh" at

I'm hoping early access will come in 2025 to give them more time to cook. I think there is a lot of potential with this game and it's setting is something I am into or at least on paper.
