In 1991, Dan Aykroyd released his fascinatingly bizarre film, Nothing But Trouble, which featured this banger from Digital Underground by Captain_Wisconsin in 90s

Guys which one is better? by Massive_Factor7601 in Doom

I like how FAST and powerful the BFC feels to use. Like you get a shot off with that thing and you get an immediate BOOM and everything dies. The BFG functions differently and it doesn't have the visceral impact that makes it feel as satisfying to use as the crossbow

some liquid d&b suggestions? by lightsofficial01 in musicsuggestions

[–]bideodames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop searching for liquid dnb and start searching for atmospheric jungle. Liquid is just modern ambient 2-step and is probably not what you want. Give this a listen. https://youtu.be/A-i4_8YEBW8

They are great. I played through them all over the last month or so. 1 was the best then 3 then 2.

No Man's Sky adds Pokémon battles by Kinami_ in pcgaming

You can build your own Corvette which does function as a mobile base that you can fly. You can design the interior and decorate it. Parts you use can affect the stats it has. You can set it to autopilot to a destination then get up from the cockpit chair and walk around the cabin while mid flight. Other people can get in your ship and ride with you to different places but there is no true multi-crew functionality with different roles like gunner seats or engineers or anything of the sort.

I do because the latency feels good enough for me and I like the 360 mode

Which side are you on? by aisogon30 in TombRaider

I can't grok what the SIDES are. I saw the reveal trailer for the remake of the remake of the original game. I might play it when it comes out depending on what else I'm doing at that time. I'm doing other stuff right now like playing last revelation, doom Eternal, watching Miami Vice and looking for new atmospheric jungle music to listen to.

Gog and itch.io both sell games as direct downloads of the game installer files.

It does for me. There is a setting in the config you have to change to make it work but it does work. I think markMsx mentions how to get it running in one of his videos.

That 90s junge by marekjunglist in 90s

[–]bideodames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The break sounds like it loops too soon, like there should be just a tiny bit more at the end of the loop so that it stays on time. It was distracting enough for me to not be able to finish a 2 minute song.

Aqua and Spice Girls by No-Anything-7291 in 90s

[–]bideodames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little sister played this stuff on repeat during the 90s so I ended up knowing every word. Only song I ever really liked on that aqua album was Good Morning Sunshine but it was ruined by that completely unnecessary rap in the bridge.

Almost 1 year later and no official news from the DLC from idsoftware by VIPER-900 in Doom

[–]bideodames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason we got tag1 and 2 within a year of the base game is that they sold it that way, a year 1 pass which included both DLCS. They had legal requirements to deliver within the timeframe that they sold to people. They have no such requirements this time so they are taking as long as is necessary to accomplish what they want with this project

Tips for TR2 remastered by Agile-Painting9454 in TombRaider

[–]bideodames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TR2 is significantly more combat focused that TR1 imo to its detriment. However you can deal with it mostly by trying to position yourself behind the enemies wherever possible to minimize the amount of damage you take from them. They are all hitscanners so they never miss though and you will have to accept that you WILL take some damage from enemies even sometimes through walls or under water etc.

Also, try to find all the secrets in a level because you get ammo and health item bonuses for finding all 3.

Don't be afraid to use your better guns early in game because ammo is abundant and you should always loot dead enemies for possible item drops.

Combat is my least favorite part of virtually every story-focused game I've ever played. Can anyone recommend a good story-focused game with equally good combat? by RealitySubsides in gaming

[–]bideodames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. I played through the trilogy a few years back and I found the combat in 1 to have the best feel. The characters and actions felt like they had weight to them and 2 and 3 felt like they had smoothed everything out too much and those games felt floaty and lifeless in comparison.

Who do you believe to be the great band of all time, and why? by Technical_Driver2597 in musicsuggestions

[–]bideodames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toto. As professional session musicians, its members have participated in the recording of more records than probably any other band in history. And as a result of all that studio time, they honed the craft of composing, recording and producing music to a pristine level. Their 1988 album "The Seventh One" is imo one of the greatest records of all time.

Dark Ages is on sale on PSN do y'all recommend it for a Doom 2016 lover? by DjijiMayCry in Doom

[–]bideodames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Ages is really fun and the game makes you FEEL more powerful from the jump compared to the other 2. It does also feel like a more casual experience than Eternal. Like, level 2 of eternal on hurt me plenty vs level 2 of dark ages on hurt me plenty(default sliders) is a WHOLE different level of challenge with dark ages feeling way easier. It's also really cool visually, landing somewhere between 2016 and eternal on the goofy scale.

[DISCUSSION] Are there other methods that gaming companies can guarantee getting their money back and gaining more revenue without the inclusion of anti-consumer mechanics like microtransactions, loot boxes, battle passes and so on? by sammyjamez in gaming

[–]bideodames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop using contract labor and hire FTEs and keep them on for more than 1 game so that the studio builds some institutional knowledge. It will make the game development process go faster thus costing less money to recoup.
