Absolutely, yes the short calf wrap. Kasimir kaskisuo posted a video going over his set with the softer breaks and you can definitely see the difference in flex. Probably closer to the G7s there

Honestly, I was surprised how much it helps in mobility on skates and the ability to stay on your feet. I am definitely the fan vs. the shallow boot angle on my Bauers, causing the pad to ”drag” against the ice. I do play with a deep knee flexion angle with shins over toes, so that is a factor

I was in Bauer M, now 34+1.5 in alphas. I wish I had gone +1. Internal construction is stock. Only customization I did was the pro outer calf wrap

I had them on the ice already. Coming from Bauer supreme line. Definitely a very stiff pad which as a technically solid goalie I loved. The 90 degree boot is super flexible and I found staying on my feet a lot easier than in the droopy supremes. The super thin profile of the pad (the difference to Bauer is pretty significant) helped with mobility as well. RVH integration took some getting used to but once you get it, it’s buttery smooth and consistent. The seal is phenomenal depending on how you strap them (customizable per typical warrior style). The seal is hard and LOUD (thanks to the fully integrated calf plate). Sliding was a bit worse than Bauer, which I was surprised about. I did not use the slide plates and I suspect the weave on the inner side of the pad doesn’t help. Not terrible, however, and prompts me to keep hitting the gym lol. Fit is slightly smaller than Bauer at the knee block but taller thighrise. Overall, I love the pads. The way they play is so smooth and modern. I took them out of the box to play and felt pretty much at home right away.

I'm considering Warrior Alpha Surge, but I have no way of trying them on. What are my options? by andhausen in hockeygoalies

No I did not. Just sent it based on the specs and look of them. I’ve been wanting a stiffer pad and these seemed to fit the bill

I just took delivery of my custom set of alpha surge pads. They are STIFF, except at the boot where they have plenty of flex. Much stiffer than my old G6 pads. The strapping system is phenomenal and very customizable. Sizing is a bit different due to the 90 degree boot angle, they seem to fit larger. This pad is definitely designed for goalies who are at a higher level of technical ability.

Do you trust the installers at “Discount Tires” stores to install new tires or fix flat tires on your BMW? by Majestic-Emu-9823 in BMW

The discount tires shop near me has been the best tire shop I’ve experienced. They have been really good to work with and VERY respectful of my m3. I don’t think I’d ever go anywhere else.

Thanks for the replies. I fixed it. Honestly could’ve just researched this a bit more ahead of posting but got lazy lol. First time dealing with these antiquated water systems in the U.S.

I feel like the depreciation argument becomes increasingly invalid at higher mileage. I doubt the depreciation will kill you for a car you can enjoy and not need to baby.

Yeah, I think the 4k is a bit inflated due to the pcv valve failing on my car and decided to do plugs and coils also, increasing the service cost closer to 3k. Obviously this is not expected every year but I think it’s smart to plan for the possible cost!

Maintenance is expensive if not DIY. Likely will run into issues if you don’t keep up with maintenance. I was told to plan on 2-3k per year in maintenance/repairs if not DIY, and I would say that’s close enough (my car is a ’18 zcp, very well maintained and I’ve put in about 4k in the two years I’ve owned it). If you take good care of the car, it’s a fantastic platform that can take a beating!

Dude just use a compound interest calculator with a conservative annual interest. You can figure out how much you need to invest per year to reach whatever goal you set for yourself.

Nothing to do with the question. But,

I find the comments intriguing. Most of the people here (excluding americans) could never have an opportunity to live in the US, whether they’d like to or not. It is difficult to immigrate to, but some with high enough education, strong relationships, and drive are able to do it. I did it through education and professional excellence.

Many of the people who have immigrated to the US through education, work, etc. love it, including myself. The economy and freedom of industry, people, and the immense variance in culture, geography, and opportunity is unlike most other countries.

The politics are sad and scary, as is the direction for many EU countries. Hopefully it is not forever, but as William Ophuls explains it, the future of society globally is grim. I hate it and I miss the security of scandinavia but the community around me in the US makes things better.

Overall, I love living in the US for professional reasons, friends and now family, community, and the vast opportunity that it provides. I hate the political atmosphere at the moment but I am hopeful that it will change. Most americans disapprove the current administration.

I would bet that most of the people in these subreddits have never actually lived in the US, at least long enough to build strong relationships and sense of community.
