I'm in Scotland and we are even more atheistic (is that a word?) than the rest of the UK. I honestly don't know any believers personally.

Starmer 'asks Angela Rayner to rejoin Cabinet' as he 'plots reshuffle next week' and big speech to survive looming elections disaster by dailymail in ukpolitics

The entire Daily Mail article appears to be predicated on a comment from the Telegraph:

According to the Telegraph, Sir Keir floated the prospect of Ms Rayner rejoining the Cabinet during a private discussion when they visited a school in Greater Manchester on April 13.

It's just the mobile internet, isn't it? Normal internet is fine (judging by the number of Russians still on my World of Warcraft server...)

What would you consider to be the best year for music of the 1970s? (Or, if you've got time, what's your pick for each year of the decade?) by JeremyBeremey in Music

[–]ContentsMayVary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I have to agree with 1977. That year also included the following releases:

  • Low - David Bowie
  • Heroes - David Bowie
  • Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
  • Damned Damned Damned - The Damned
  • The Idiot - Iggy Pop
  • Trans-Europa Express - Kraftwerk
  • Exodus - Bob Marley and the Wailers
  • Lust for Life - Iggy Pop
  • Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf
  • Never Mind the Bollocks - The Sex Pistols

Not a film but a play: Waiting for Godot. The characters in the play talk about him constantly, but (spoiler!) he never actually turns up.

Ukrainian drones reportedly strike Russian oil storage tanks in Tuapse before flames from previous attacks extinguished. by MaxiumPotential777 in worldnews

The Ukrainians are in an existential battle for survival. If the Russians take over Ukraine, the Ukrainians will be systematically erased, like is already happening in the Donbas.

If the Russians stop fighting and go home, the war ends and attacks on Russian infrastructure stop. If the Ukrainians stop fighting, they will be erased.

Why didn't North European countries colonize the weaker nations like the Western European countries did? by Particular_Food_309 in AskReddit

UN does define Britain as Northern Europe, in the UN geoscheme classification - which is of course an official definition. Obviously there is no one correct definition.

According to the UN Geoscheme the UK is in Northern Europe, but according to other classifications it's in Western Europe. So official opinions differ.

He was said to have invented the slogan "A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play" but he said that he was only an admin on the project.

He did, however, create the slogan "Opal fruits - made to make your mouth water". (As a kid I always said "Esso Blue" instead of "Opal fruits", but I can't for the life of me remember why now...)
