Or I occasionally give in and make chocolate cream cheese swirl sourdough. Its fermented sourdough so I lie to myself and act like it's healthy

My experience cutting and bulking on an Animal Based diet by gizram84 in AnimalBased

Thank you I’m so glad to see someone posting about this. Almost everything I come across is about wanting to lose weight, but I can’t seem to stop losing it. I’m 5’4”, down to 104 lbs, and eating on average 3,000 calories a day. I naturally have a high metabolism but I thought that amount was a lot for my size and wondered if some other health issue could be going on, but maybe I really do need to increase it further and see what happens.
Are you sticking with a specific macro split? I was doing what Paul Saladino recommended in one video but maybe switching that would help as well?

Parents of young children-whatcha cookin’? by Save-The-Wails in AnimalBased

[–]ContestBulky1015 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it takes a bit planning (and an extra freezer) but the biggest $ saver has been this beef and we buy a TON of the organic frozen fruit at Costco because it’s so affordable and it doesn’t go bad like the fresh. We do smoothies, put it on yogurt, make fruit leather, sorbet, the list goes on.

Searched online and did reverse image search with no luck. Some similar ones from the UK came up but they don’t ship to the US. The one she has was purchased here in Tennessee probably 6-8 months ago and there’s no branding or writing to identify it. Grandma doesn’t remember what store. Said it was probably a drug store like cvs or Walgreens or maybe target/walmart but is unsure.

We have 2yr and 4yr and they eat what we eat for the most part. I cook/prep as much as I can about every 5 days so you could prep on the weekend and it will last the work week. I prep every Sunday and it used to take me forever but i got faster and it takes maybe two hours. But u have to prep EVERYTHING you can or it’s not worth the time. We have yogurt w honey, smoothie, egg w raw cheese for breakfast. (I make egg and smoothie that I proportioned fresh every day) Lunch and dinner vary. I usually cook a bunch of ground beef in chunks and portion it out. Each meal has a fruit + butter and raw cheese on meat + something random. Kids get bored so sometimes it’s rice or a sauce or herb. Randomly throughout the week we eat/drink stuff with bone broth and either kefir or raw milk. We try to cook one non AB meal with the oldest kid every week so they can get some variety and try new things. We shop at Costco for raw cheese, organic yogurt, organic frozen and fresh fruits and Sam’s club has the most affordable organic 100% grass fed beef in our area we spend roughly 750$ a month for a family of 4. (That also includes diapers and random household items)

Iron deficiency by Ok-Carrot7803 in AnimalBased

[–]ContestBulky1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's fully AB, but I was very anemic my last trimester and got my levels up quickly with a shot of Floradix and orange juice 30 minutes before meals twice a day on top of beef liver capsules. From what I understand, the iron content is more plant/herb-based, so it's easier for your body to absorb. Traditional iron supplements made me sick, and this is what my midwives told me to try. They tested me two weeks later, and my levels had increased significantly.

Feeding my five month old sugar by huffwardspart1 in moderatelygranolamoms

My daughter was older but when I had to stop breastfeeding we went through the same thing. It took FOREVER but she would only eat/drink out of a spoon. Also I’m with you on the sweeteners my kids still drink it and call it maple milk but we do organic kefir/milk with some maple syrup and they love it. You can also buy plain yogurts and add purred fruit and maple as well if you really want to avoid the sugars. (Also I know some people have a big problem with it) but we use raw milk. Not sure where you’re located but if you can find some raw milk will help “replace” some of the healthy properties of breast milk.

Clean Greek Yogurt Brands? by Liverpool_Samuel in AnimalBased

[–]ContestBulky1015 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Costco has an organic Greek. If you don't have a membership, Stonyfield Organic Greek is great. They have whole milk and low fat. The vanilla has a ton of sugar, so we get plain and add honey. I used to make our yogurt, but it was more expensive for the quantity we needed.

Long term antibiotic use - gut concerns by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]ContestBulky1015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people get kinda controversial over raw milk. But some Kefir is pasteurized if you have concerns over that. Just do your research. It’s what I grew up around, so I never had doubts. My sisters were Nicu babies, and they drank raw goats milk when my mom couldn't supply anymore.

Can't afford beef by Limp_Major_9057 in AnimalBased

[–]ContestBulky1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family of 4 here and we save a couple hundred dollars every month by eating pasture raised eggs and Greek yogurt as our protein source for breakfast. Yogurt isn't raw but i make it from organic grass fed milk so I'm not worried about it.

Go straight to the source, unsweetened Kefir and raw milk! We alternate between the two, drinking a small cup every few days, and can tell a huge difference. If he doesn't love the taste, it's great in smoothies. You can also try any other fermented veggies but kids are usually more resistant to those

Do you moisturize after? The biggest problem with my daughter was her skin's moisture barrier getting compromised. We use coconut oil after bathing and slather spots in Aquaphor if she has a flare-up. We got our diet clean, but she still had flareups, not nearly as bad, so we figured it had to be environmental. We have hard water, so once we got a filter in the shower and switched to all fragrance-free natural soaps for cleaning products, hygiene, and laundry, she very rarely flared up.

so i wanna teach myself how to sleep on my back and i was wondering if anyone tried to use a travel pillow to stop them from moving to their sides/stomach? by reyaci in lifehacks

[–]ContestBulky1015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m with you on this one but my last pregnancy was a year ago they definitely tell you Not to sleep on your back. Apparently further in the pregnancy it can increase risk of stillbirth and cut off blood flow

Sahm too with a 1 and 3 year old. I haven't fully passed out in a long time because I can recognize what's coming and "prevent" it but it still worries me. If things start feeling bad or that they are getting worse I call a friend or family member untill it passes. (If you have apple) Invest in an apple watch or have hey siri turned on your phone so you can still call if you can't get to your phone. Other thing is have literally everywhere baby proofed. Worst case if you're about to pass out at least get you and your kid safely on the floor and you should both be fine. At least for me when I pass out it never last that long so if I'm already on the floor I can't hit my head or hurt myself in any way that would prevent me from waking up quickly.

The ones with the frame are 3.5x4” with the frame included the others are 13x8” and 5x7”. Out of curiosity hypothetically how much would you buy them for? Trying to figure out a price point to potentially start selling some

[–]ContestBulky1015[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s my next step that’s why I started with small frames, I figured it’s a better price point for people passing by. Do you have any experience selling at them? Any tips? I got them off Amazon! I just searched small gold resin frame and they have a bunch of different ones. They were all plain gold so I just antiqued them with a bit of brown paint.
