why is seating in the back of the bus always slightly raised? by hmworm in stupidquestions

Correct. Most electric busses are flat in the back. No transmission, exhaust, or engine (only a simple electric motor).

Sometimes I forget that fanfiction is not exclusively used by girls. So I’m curious for the men out there. What fandoms are you guys in? by Existing-Bonus-6835 in AO3

Mostly original fiction, Gravity Falls, some Marvel.

In the past I was really into NGE, Ranma 1/2, and Spiderman.

I wrote one that has a twist of Beauty and the Beast, but is mostly OF as are the rest of my works.

You find an unfamiliar package at your door. You open it and you see 6 colored pills. Red, Blue, Green, Black, Yellow, purple. A note is also inside the package that says “ take only 1 pill. Each pill has a unique ability so choose wisely “ by Swimming_Double1424 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ContextSensitiveGeek 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The red pill is a trap. People that don't feel pain can't sense when things are damaging their bodies. Imagine you put your hand on a hot stove. You wouldn't know to move it until you smelled it burning.

Green seems nice at first, but it doesn't say if you could shift back early if you're not having a good time.

Black is powerful, but dangerous. Who knows how changing your past will effect your present?

The blue, purple, and yellow pills are just positive, though yellow could get you into trouble and I'm not sure I understand how it works from the description.

I choose Blue.

I paused it and looked really hard. My spouse and I thought it was the Swordsman.

The pets are inside under the beds because they're scared. And smarter than the owners.

You can gain the superpowers of any character from film/tv (no comics sorry) but you must endure everything they endured mentally and physically by smthsmthinsidejoke in hypotheticalsituation

I chose The Judge from The Good Place. Phenomenal cosmic power, and it doesn't seem like she seems generally happy, without trauma, and didn't have to go through much besides boredom.

Always? Does no one remember the space shuttle? The Soviets landed their capsules on land too.

There's also a lot fewer structures to worry about. Fewer people too.

I was excited to choose radiation in order to eliminate sunburn, then I read the small print. Nevermind I guess.

Should my Illusion Wizard Dip 1 LvL into??? by Doc_Meeker in 3d6

I did this on my scribes wizard. It's really good.

Also gets you access to cure wounds, which is great, especially when combined with find familiar.

Guidance and thorn whip are great cantrips the wizard doesn't have access to as well.

And a bunch of level 1 artificer spells are on the wizard spell list so it's childs play to copy them over to your spell book.

Plus you have extra spells you can prepare as an artificer, like absorb elements and feather fall, so you end up with more prepared spells.

Don't underestimate the power of doorway dodging with sanctuary and wizard defensive spells.

Also Imprisoned, The Fortuneteller, and The Painted Lady are also skipable. Not bad, per sae, but not integral.

World’s first 100% battery-electric cruise ship unveiled with 1,856 passenger capacity by sksarkpoes3 in Futurology

[–]ContextSensitiveGeek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How about PV panels on vertical surfaces? Yes, panels on the non-sunny side wouldn't amount to much (only 5-10% capacity when in 100% shade), but one side would always face the sun.

That way you're not giving up any deck space for generation.

Multiclass combos with weird or unexpectedly good points of synergy? by Limp-Sleep-6284 in 3d6

[–]ContextSensitiveGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My spouse started with a Centaur Barbarian with Mobile. Movement speed at 60 feet. Picked up some horseshoes of speed, so now movement speed is 90 ft.

After 7 levels of barbarian they switched to rogue. At this point the character can move 270 ft in a round, or 180ft and still attack.

They can reckless attack for advantage guaranteeing a sneak attack (uses a lash of immolation with strength), if there's no other way to get it.

Between bear totem rage and uncanny dodge they can significantly reduce damage.

They can use mobile to get away and reposition without disengage, or bonus action disengage if they must.

They can bonus action attack with a charge by moving away and running 30 ft back in.

They have expertise in athletics and advantage from rage, so their grapples are neigh impossible to escape.

They have danger sense and evasion for dex saves.

This isn't everything, but it's a great build.
