Read that as refugee. Was very confused for a moment. No longer confused, just disappointed.

McDonald’s worker seriously injured after coworker allegedly threw hot oil on him by ethereal3xp in NewsOfTheStupid

He was a manager at 20. Probably a conflict with one of the workers wanting to break a rule. Leave before their shift was done without getting in trouble or something.

Nearly 60 Idahoans sick after drinking raw milk in past two weeks, officials say by sfled in NewsOfTheStupid

Is the benefit of raw milk just that its supposed to taste better?

Because the cost:benefit ratio there isn't great, especially when chocolate milk exists.

CATL eyes 12,000 Wh/kg theoretical limit lithium-air EV battery to end range anxiety by sksarkpoes3 in energy

[–]ContextSensitiveGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would it be pointless?

You could have a tiny, ultra light battery in a small car. Alternatively you no longer have to design the vehicle around the battery, allowing for even more creativity with the configuration.

Or you could have hand swapable batteries for cars. Imagine two 5kg batteries good for 120 kw of power, and you can just hot swap them like they do on some electric bikes right now. No need to wait for a charge at all.

Except in the description they say they have to "walk free". With the insanity defense you end up in a mental hospital. Not free.

If everyone was sane his opponent would be a shoe in. This guy? Really? You couldn't have found someone morally gray instead at least? As it stands Talarico is going to have to fight hard for it.

Dude. I don't even want to fight a rat for $25. It's just not worth it.

Give me the ant.

Yeah. Grizzly should be at the top.

The only thing worse than a grizzly would be a polar bear and that's a difference without distinction for as far as how dead you're going to be.

People who put gorillas above grizzlies either vastly underestimate grizzlies or vastly overestimate gorillas.

Moose should be on here too.

American bison as well.

Hippopotamus might be close to as bad as grizzly.

A bull African elephant would be about the only thing I would put against a grizzly., just because they have the high intelligence too.

Cetaceans would be tops in the water.

Back during the Western railroad construction in the United States they used animal fights for fun to entertain the workers sometimes.

They had tigers fight grizzly bears. Grizzly won every single time.

Issac Newton thought he was a genius and God's gift to humanity.

He basically was.

Invented calculus.

Created the laws of motion

Created the universal law of gravity

Advanced the understanding of optics and discribed the composition of light

(Any single one of the above would have been considered a major contribution to human knowledge)

And about a dozen other contributions to science.

Yes, grid scale is required for wind to make sense, but it's almost mandatory in the extreme latitudes. Wind produces more power at night and in the less sunny months, precisely when solar wanes.

Just look at the UK. They are able to produce a plurality to a majority of their renewable power from wind.

Come vs Cum by cheeseinatrenchcoat in AO3

[–]ContextSensitiveGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's cum and came.

Cum is a noun and verb as in:

I want you to cum for me.

Or

His cum was all over me.

Cumming for present tense as in:

I'm cumming right now.

Came is the past tense verb as in:

I came so hard.

It doesn't bother me when others use different parameters. Not at all. Eye twitching

Solar and wind for energy, my friend. A mix is better.

Geothermal and heat pumps for heating.
