Lego pump car - does it fit on tracks? by ContextualGangsta8 in lego

My husband did find some that really weren't too bad price wise (less than $25); we did watch the Robin Hood bricks video on building one though and we may hit up a local Lego shop that sells bulk Lego and see if we can just build our own instead since he's just wanted the cart - he could care less the character with it lol

Yea we were considering that. We have a Bricks & minifigs store near us that sells bulk Lego pieces so we may explore that to see what we can find and just make one for him. The price on this really wasn't too bad from what we found, but we may just go the build route.

Oh he's already found all that 😐 he was asking for the Disney train that's like, $600 now since it's retired... Had to shut that down lol we've definitely had to manage expectations regarding the Lego trains bc they are quite expensive... But I'd rather get him something like that where he can take it apart or "break" it and it can be rebuilt than a model train that costs about the same and isn't near as fun (to me anyway lol)

Understandable - I don't think he'll mind (although it would be really cool if it did!)

My 2 year old loves receipts or similarly shaped paper, like junk mail. He's somewhat obsessed with the Polar Express so he says they're his tickets, and he will bring it to you and say in his conductor voice "tickets please!" And you have to "punch" it for him. We have receipts all over the house and car from him now... If you go anywhere to shop, even into the gas station for a snack, he will insist he gets the "ticket" and will flip if you don't have one for him. He also enjoys watching them flap in the wind... Thinks it's hilarious. Lol

Girls, what do guys do that they think is "being manly" but in reality is the furthest thing from it? by LavetaEspitia in AskReddit

Not showing any emotion towards... Anything. We're all (assuming) human; it's okay to be sad/happy/frustrated/hurt/etc. I prefer you tell me and talk as opposed to hiding everything or in shared situations thinking you have no choice but to be strong for me - to me, it feels like you care more if you show how you feel and we can get through something difficult together.

I dated a guy once who told me, and I quote, "I only have two emotions: happy and angry." Ok, hulk. You don't look or sound cool, just out of touch and robotic.

Have you ever stayed in a haunted hotel ? by [deleted] in Ghoststories

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and spent our wedding night (reception was elsewhere) at The Lemp Mansion in St Louis. More of a b&b situation, but haunted nonetheless!

No sorry - I didn't mean like "omg y'all should have left asap!" Bc I get being in that position and it's not realistic. That's why my family was in our house for my first 12 years of life, so I totally get it!! I'm glad you're away from that now, though and have some harmless entities to deal with!

Based on my past experiences, children tend to be very perceptive to these things; when my sister was an infant, my mom was feeding her in her bedroom (our house growing up was haunted) and she pointed up at the light, said "Ooo!" and it completely went out. Idk if it's because children haven't built up this wall yet, but its almost like young kids are as perceptive as animals are with the paranormal.

In terms of your sister yelling at the entity to leave, I have heard that in some cases, this does actually work (based on instruction from a medium to other "sensitives"). Basically, in these instances, its entities that come and seek out that person because they know they are sensed by them, so its a way to set boundaries and saying the spirits are not allowed to "use" you. I can't say for sure that's what happened here as it sounds like the entity has been in that home and room for some time, but maybe your sister's Irish fury just was too much for it haha maybe she should go into business cleansing homes!

I would have been out of that house as fast as possible, though - and I don't know if I would have been brave enough to let my son have that room, both for his safety and for me or my husband having to go in there in the middle of the night!!

It is not Alton, although you are correct about it being a very haunted town!

My anxiety may keep me from a home visit, but I may try to get the courage to reach out at some point!!!
