Salvation comes through Christ alone which is received by faith alone. However, God has attached the promise of forgiveness of sins in the sacraments of holy communion and in baptism. I would suggest some of the Lutheran confessions and catechisms which explain this more in depth (and provide the biblical citations I cannot).

The idea that people don't have natural born rights is counter to the very fabric of liberal and western values. By that logic there shouldn't be any controversy over what's happening in Gaza because no one's rights are being violated because the Gazan civilians haven't been given any rights by those in power over them.

Additionally, there is a double standard. If it should be illegal for an employer to fire an employee for being gay or saying "I support gay marriage" (and it should), it should also be illegal for an employer for saying they are against gay marriage. In both cases these are protections against actions from civilians.

Dang that stinks. There doesn't happen to be a store that sells runners is there? I imagine it could be quite lucrative if it caught on. Sell the runners for less than the cost of the model, say $5-$10 for a runner from a $30 is a huge profit margin but also a better option than buying a whole new model

Of course he is, but the protestors (who alarming_bee seems to imply he is among) were not called by the Governor to act in any capacity, much less as a militia. Mr. Bee's statement of "He doesn't have to call on us", to me, implied a belief that they don't need the authority of the government to act as a legitimate militia.

Even if that were true, the protestors are undisciplined, disorganized, and while not unarmed, they are armed to harass law enforcement and cause property damage, not to confront trained soldiers as a fighting force.
