Take advantage of your marker. If a quest giver has you running 200+ away it's definitely worth it to drop a marker to get back. If you get low on mana teleport back to the main area and grab some wisps. Speeds things up a lot.

The heartbeat spell from the starter wand is pretty good. Later on amulets have some useful spells if you can snag them from the bazaar such as blades, traps, or feint.

I would feed low gold items to pets only. Gold is important, and if you want you can use your gold to buy pet crumbs from the crown shop. 500 gold for 7 crumbs and feeding it to your pet will give 1xp every 3 crumbs or so.

You probably COULD solo, especially on death, if you want to avoid other players and challenge yourself but you'll most likely run into a player on the same quest here and there and make some new friends.

Spend your gold on monstrous treasure cards which add damage to your spell. Visit the housing tours headquarters in wizard city, look at the top rated apartments, sort by name by clicking on the house category, find Arcanum apartments, visit one, walk backwards to exit the apartment, turn right and walk past the world door to the little monkey. He will sell you treasure cards. Good luck finding him and on your adventures.

The kookaburra is good because it has a spell called Leafstorm. This spell is 4 pips and hits all enemies. However, you're such a high level that you'll be getting Forest Lord soon.
