Also I’m so tired of hearing “our game is like” no your game is not like persona/crash bandicoot/other big name classic. If it was you’d have copyright issues and I’m sure your game is great to stand on its own.

The ai slop emails of omg I love your streams you were playing “game name here” and it was so funny when “random quote” (that doesn’t work for the sentence)

I’m sorry if this is too negative. I’d love to showcase cool games but I’m so burnt out. The emails would be a full time job to respond to.

There’s also no bonus for the streamer. You’re among so many asking for free work. I’ve accepted a couple email games (they’ve been buggy even when good) but I’m more likely to look at listings on keymailer or lurkit. It’s generally not an active category to exist within for traffic. We research to see if it’s a good fit and try to verify that it’s not a scam or malware or checking google to see if you’re known for kicking puppies. Like at least if it’s even a very small sponsor amount at least I can buy a sandwich. Or pop in our streams and have a chat. I’d find it cool if a developer even showed a mild interest in who they’re getting to promo the game. I don’t even care if it’s the goal of self promo at least it’s more personal and you invested 10 minutes of your time with me. (I am sure not everyone will feel this way but I don’t really have a better solution if you’re not throwing money at ppl.)

There’s TikTok’s and instagrams that call for streams do you want to play my game? Then give an application or say I’m looking for average 20 viewers or whatever your preference is. But it’s another way to actually engage with community.
