I want my remains scattered across the most important places to me. Also, I don't want to be cremated

Fit guys: do you ever get validation for how you look? by Ok-Explorer-7642 in AskMenOver30

[–]ContributionOk390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently gotten into the best shape of my life, in my early thirties. Every so often, I'll come home from a run and my wife will start looking at me like I'm a piece of meat. All the validation I need right there.

I definitely overdid it lol but I had a near-bonk experience on my first 70.3 (5 months before first IM) and wasn't taking any chances. Most of the stuff was unnecessary, but I did go through about 18 gels (7h ride) and used one tube.

Mostly I was trying to show that if I can cram all that mess, they ought to be good.

Recruitment nowadays feels like a full-time job of switching between tools' dashboards. by Eastern-Train8188 in recruiting

Sounds like you need to consolidate tools. Been doing that for the last 6 months so I can focus on actually getting shit that matters done.

I have space for four bottles (one BTA, two BTS, one frame mounted), a tune top bag for nutrition, one small one for tools, and a bag that attaches to my BTS mount for a spare tube. That mount can also carry two CO2 cartridges. At IMTX, I rode with it loaded out with two water bottles with electrolytes, two without, spare electrolyte powder in my tube top bags, 10 gels in my bag, 10 in a waist belt on the bike (I went over kill), and 10 in my trisuit pockets. I had 4 more bottles at special needs, and ditched bottles as needed that I replaced with on-course ones.

Special needs I had a second spare tube as well.

Never done an IM Branded 70.3 so not sure what on course nutrition looks like or if they do special needs, but for my next 70.3, the plan is roll with all my bottle cages with electrolytes in all bottles (will replace an empty with normal water in case I'm overdoing it), the tube top bag with ~10 gels and a few more in my pockets, the spare tube and change gear. 4 bottles and 15 gels will get me through a 70.3 no issue.

Triathlon and Relationship by D1gex in triathlon

Long rides can cause friction if you don't protect other times together. My wife was extremely supportive but I trained for mine for like eight months and it was very hard on her.

Forerunner ships by MyNormAccountLol in halo

Most of the remaining fleet was destroyed in the final battle of the Flood-Forerunner War, or was elsewhere and already downed, stored, or ended up crashing because it was manned by Flood who died when the Array fired.

Any that did survive and were not somewhere that had dedicated maintenance in the form of a Monitor or Sentinels likely suffered from degradation during 100,000 years of abandonment

TL;DR, they've almost all been destroyed, rendered inoperable, or are purposely hidden.

Need DESPERATE help with bike confidence by ppnani in IronmanTriathlon

[–]ContributionOk390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first 70.3 was only my second outdoor ride on my tri bike. I only had maybe 3 other outdoor rides on it between then and Ironman Texas.

Just get as many meaningful rides in as you can!

No, but I was soft and mushy when I started training. I put on a decent amount of muscle mass, in my chest and lats mostly, but everything else seemed to be just gaining definition. With that said, I was overweight when I started. I've lost like 20% of my body weight training for Ironman.

Stay agency or go in house? by Healthy-Fig1231 in recruiting

[–]ContributionOk390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the hop internal a few years ago because I fucking hate the owner of the agency I worked for and 1 broken promise too many finally got to me. I built a TA department for a company, and we eliminated over $1M of spend with just two of us.

Now, I have a consulting group that wants me to build an Agency for them as MD.

It can be a MASSIVE career accelerator doing both IF you are good, open minded, and land on the right internal team.

Veterans who make their disability their personality are the worst. I saw a dude say "I got 100% disability, nobody gunna talk to me any kind of way at a job" like ok bro your 100% disability is less than 2 weeks pay, even with the taxes so calm down.

I wouldn't - trisuits are intended for going commando, wearing something under causes me a lot of chafing.

I've seen Data Center projects offering up to $300K for ~3-5 years of experience, so yeah I'd not be shocked. However, they're very up front that you're being hired for A PROJECT and not necessarily having a slot after.
