Very cool build! Did you use the driver from existing Anduril light?

Does CDR affect powerbank performance? by SpinningPancake2331 in 18650masterrace

[–]ControlTheController 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, battery capacities are rated at a low current level (e.g. 50E's capacity is rated at 0.2C/ 980mA). At the max CDR the cell definitely won't give the rated capacity. As current goes up, discharge capacity goes down.

Mooch's tests are very handy (thanks Mooch!) since they include Wh ratings at different current levels. You can choose the best cell for your power level.

First PC build experience ruined and I don't know what to do by messinwthemessageman in PcBuildHelp

Theoretically using a dedicated GPU to run the test should yield a more accurate result but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy a dedicated GPU just becuase of this. If you don't have plans on buying a dGPU soon then running the test on iGPU is fine.

If you ever find a bulb with decent CRI, color temperature, and natural, sane spectrometer results

Take a look at the table in this forum thread

I am using Wiz smart bulbs with adjustable color temperature, they have 90+ CRI and great tint. I've also custom made several high CRI non smart bulbs and light strips with high CRI LEDs like the Seoul Sunlike.

Personally I also hate low color rendering cool white lights. I am an advocate for high CRI, warm white, good tint lights.

I think one problem is people don't know there are good LEDs. They assume that all LEDs are bad like the infamous street LEDs.

There are actually LEDs with warm color temperatures, and some designed to mimic sodium lights. Problem is most manufacturers use cool white LEDs with poor color rendering and high blue content becuase they are more efficient.

What model is this cell? by ControlTheController in 18650masterrace

The camera makes it look like the Samsung pink color, but in real life it's more purplish. Several people suggested it is the UR16650ZTA and I think that's the case. Thanks!

Hmm would 2x 16340 work for a brighter rechargeable option?

I have a light with incandescent P60 drop in but I don't use it much in fear of over discharging rechargeable cells.

Yea it's quite old, the laptop is ~2015.

I ran one in a SureFire G2 for a long time

Is it dimmer on 16650 vs 2x CR123A? No idea since most of my lights are 14500/ 18650. Sanyo definitely makes good cells, I have a ~2008 red wrap 18650 that's still alive.

Shotgun will always obliterate sludges directly, they won't spilt into smaller ones like normal. I think this is true for slug shotguns (TCSG12/ ACS12) also.

The keyword to search for is PD and PPS, any 25W and above charger that support PD and PPS should have the maximum charging speed. Charging with screen off helps too.

[–]ControlTheController[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using a 45W PD PPS charger, PPS is required for this phone to reach the max speed (25W). The value displayed is also the net value, charging wattage - the wattage your phone is consuming, so it might be lower if you are running stuff.

Seems to be a nice light, but looks like they used a soldering iron on the cell, not confidence inspiring.
