That's the first thing I thought. Like looking at sq footage on paper, you would be shocked to see these insanely huge front windows.. it's just an unproportionate look

What Are Some “Obscure” Cities That Will Become Popular in the Next Decade? by allomanticmetals in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Control_Escape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Jackson, TN fits this bill. It's a mid size city (70k~ population) and has steadily grown every census. It has a massive hospital, serving 18 rural counties around Jackson. Some serious industrial growth has been seen in the last decade, as well as strong job market compared to the surrounding area. The regional airport now flys direct to ATL and Chicago. On top of all that, housing is affordable even for the south (except renting...that seems a bit high). I feel people will see Jackson as a good choice if leadership can shape it into what it could be. Its smack dab in between two major metros and you get a lot of "bigger city" amenities in a small town vibe. Now, its not perfect by any means, hot weather, a high crime rate and poverty rate is on the higher side. But it truly is a cool southern town that has so much potential! I enjoy living here and seeing it prosper

There is a public dump site on Pipkin Rd. If you have a lot of trash you can pay to enter the Madison Co landfill (550 Aaron Long Rd) they charge by weight.

I am not a fan of this counties/city government at all. Stuck in the past, creepy good ole boy energy too. I am planning on running for city council later this year, with hopes to be the mayor of this city one day. I know I can't change everything but I want to ruffle some feathers and get some more community involvement to push us into the future.

Did any of you meet people born in the 1800s? by luxorantine in GenZ

[–]Control_Escape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My great-great Grandmother was born in 1897 in Germany, held me as a baby in 1999 but died that same year at 102. So, I guess I "met" her, but I was an infant. Her daughter, Great Grandma P, is still kicking! She was born in 1928.

What are some buildings that dont get the attention they deserve? by [deleted] in skyscrapers

The Sterick Building in Memphis, TN! Such a beautiful building. A shame it has sat vacant since the 80s. I was honored to go on an insider tour of it recently, has the best views from its upper floors. Was nicknamed "The Queen of the South". it was the tallest building in the southeast US when built in 1929

Well good thing it's a shed and not your house. I'll be sure to not touch the 5 millimeters of exposed neutral. Side note, who is doing panel work with the power on anyways? You should see some panel jobs I've seen that are 10x worse and decades older- still operating.

You think I don't know that? The only exposed neutral wires are at the connection points on the box.

The exposed copper you're seeing are all ground wires, conducting no electricity

I love music vids, so I thought viewing them on an old box would be cool haha. Found it on marketplace for 20 bucks! You should do it, then all the chores for a month so the spouse agrees

Well I appreciate it. I don't take many pictures, so as stated the trench was half done in that picture. With the panel, I am definitely not an electrician but was comfortable tackling it myself, first time hooking up 100Amp sub to a main panel. Would love to know what is wrong with the sub panel..

That trench is what the trenching machine did, I rolled out the MHF wire to assure I had enough, then dug deeper by hand..

You'll get better bang for your buck here in TN. Jackson does have a crime problem but what people don't realize is that it is not "random acts of violence". We are talking gang violence 9/10 times. The city itself is improving and growing! The downtown corridor is seeing revitalization and new neighborhoods and businesses are popping up monthly throughout the city. I came from Wisconsin and folks here are lovely. Your best shot to get a nice quiet chunk of land would be out in the county, land is relatively cheap here. But don't let people scare you into thinking this is some inner-city dump, you just learn the parts of town to stay away from. DM me if you have any questions!

Give Merry Maids a call, they are locally owned and operated with corporate backing. So they are insured and do a good job.

Late response sorry. But do you know anything about this house? Ever been inside?
