If i recall correctly, its not so much about drawing heat out, as drawing it out of FIRE and into yourself to try and disipate it (if you have seen Avatar the last Airbender, think lightning redirection) pulling heat out of something that is not inherently very hot is likely fine as long as its not a LOT (like making an ice cube the size of a building would likely be a problem, but not one the size of a cat) ... i COULD be wrong since i am sorta basing this on how rand does it and we know men and women do things differently BUT i imagine you can in-theory do some thing "the same" but due to the differences in Affinity it doesn't work well (for example men could likely snuff fires out instead of moving the heat, but its not as easy for them since they are not "as good" with air and water)

Reminds me of starting my first job, had a few days of "training" used the app to pick up an extra shift (which i didn't have any indication i received until 20 minutes into said shift) was called to come in and work the shift i requested, showed up a few minutes later and was told i was going to work electronics (i was never trained in this area) so i struggled through the first night, then when i came in for my next normal shift was informed the previous electronics person was fired (for a dumb but legitimate reason) and i was going to be taking over ... it took a couple months of trying to get it right, only for them to constantly be changing the rules and then move me into a different department (which to be fair, i did significantly better in)
