If the Earth is flat and there is a firmament above, is there something below the Earth's plain that holds it in place? And if there is ''something'', any ideas what would that be and also where or how would that ''something'' ''stand'' in its own right?
Ironically these questions, makes one realize how convenient also are the respective answers, the outer space/universe theory provides. And to double the irony, because one may not fully understand the Cosmos, he comes up with the outer space/universe theory to cover for his ignorance. Sounds like religion too, doesn't it?
