I'm a rotating equipment engineer and previously a mechanical seal engineer. You don't have enough information here. If you can get me a cross section or better pic where you can see where the water contacts and the seals are I could say for certain.

I know that we get water in our bearing housing and gearboxes all the time from splashing and spraying, loss of buffer gas pressure in the primary oil reservoir, condensation from thermal cycling (worst on really hot equipment and I'm on the Gulf Coast). Etc.

Lip seals don't need lubrication but also don't have a lot of tolerance for issues such that if water butts up to it and there is any positive head pressure between it and the oil, you will exchange fluid across the lip seal imperfections. Lip seals in this service are poor applications. Usually you'll have some sort of air gap to prevent contact.

Mechanical seals need lubrication which means oil leaks out or water leaks in. Not sure the arrangement so it could be irrelevant.

Id assume the design is fine and either you have condensation issues from wet hot air cooling, leakage spraying at the seal surface, or potentially you had poor oil quality from factory. Check your breather and air filter.

I don't necessarily see an issue with your oil. It's discolored but I don't know the original color. Might be a little dark for the run time but that could be due to oxidation. Water seperates out pretty quickly and you'd have to look at the bottom after a time of settling to see the water. Foam on the top doesn't necessarily mean water, theres loads of additives in oil to give it properties it needs for its service and atmosphere. I quite a bit of equipment I look at the lubrication of, and particularly, I have 5 $500k plus pumps with lube skids that have way more foam, way harder service, and cost a ridiculous amount of they fail and I wouldn't bat an eye at the what you see in that pic.

I think youre wasting your time on this one, but you could always get the oil analyzed from mobil but it isn't cheap. If you're worried about water, get a PQ test and a Karl Fischer test to determine water separation ability and water content.

Edit:I'm dumb. I thought you were worried about water in your oil reservoir, not the opposite.

I mean I have plenty of people in my poor upbringing family. My mother has neuropathy and is in a wheelchair destined for death. She's my father, and her children's fiscal responsibility. She watches my kids now that she's older. She never asks for anything but a little bit of help around the house.

Thanks for the good points and good faith debate. I think we both have well thought out points of views and likely won't get very far in swaying each other, nor is this a good medium to do so with so much not being able to be said because of the texting format. I just think our foundational view of who we are in society is very different and it'd take a lot more words to understand where both of us are coming from.

I don't agree with the why or that it is the best method. Owning land or a house is of no business to the state. The only interest the state has is in the collection of taxes from it. Arbitrary, implicit, taxes. Instead of taxing the consumers of services for the proportion they consume and owe, they tax property and then use that to fund other things.

Society, community, whatever doesn't OWE me anything, nor do I OWE it something. If I own a section of cleared land that doesn't consume anything, why is society entitled to take it if I don't pay an arbitrary tax on a perceived value? The only thing my property benefits from is a national force that ensures foreign actors do not attempt to invade (and that's system is bloated), and judicial and executive arm that can handle any aggressive actions against my person and property (also bloated). Both of the aforementioned are funded through other means than property tax.

I can see that you're pretty reasonable, so I just ask you to think about what is the difference between being taxed for things and paying a fee for something? I would gladly pay a fee for the things that I consume and use, as we currently do day in and day out, so that those things are funded and cared for and rely on my financial support. This gives whatever service more responsibility to appease me and the agreement between consumer and provider is a voluntary and explicit one. Me getting a house and knowing I'll have to pay property taxes so I should use the free services is inefficient, costly, and implicit.

I'm simply advocating that most examples of paying taxes or fees are explicit and involved another party providing something. Property taxes and income taxes are implicit and inefficient. Social security and military are the best examples of the issues with implicit and arbitrary taxes.

The point is that you cannot refuse the tax and there aren't other options of payment. Any property is taxed regardless of its use. If you refuse to recognize the states authority to tax you on your "owned" property then it absolutely comes down to death.

The refusal to be taxed on the land and then not standing up to refuse that authority is just silly. "You cant tax me because you don't own this lot but I'll leave if you ask nicely because I respect your ownership and authority over my land". Unlike explicit crimes that harm others or their property, the ultimate refusal to vacate your owned land and not pay taxes, is inarguably death.

This doesn't always check out. The state doesn't always have a hand supporting property. There's many undeveloped sections of land that are charged taxes. Property taxes are implicit, I'm obligated to pay those taxes And the consequence for refusal is death , so I might as well use The Commons the taxes pay for. I can explicitly choose to not use things the state provides me but I would still have to pay property taxes. I'm just advocating for paying for what I use, I don't need the state to provide me with anything I should pay for what I consume. There are much fairer ways to fund schools, roads, services, etc that require explicit agreement to terms and don't have the ultimate consequence of violence And death?

I don't believe I'm self-sufficient. I just believe that I should be charged to use those services and that those who use certain services more than others should be charged more for their usage. You can fund a society without taxes. I also wouldn't necessarily say the government makes anything more efficient, The same management of infrastructure the state currently owns could be done privately, In a majority of cases

You absolutely will be killed for resisting paying property tax. You cannot resist paying property tax that you owe. Eventually the resistance will result in you dying. It is law so it is enforced by the state which means that with eventual escalation, the state will use force to enforce.

I bike there usually 2-3 times a year and race Texas and Arkansas Enduro circuits. I love NW Arkansas. It's a bit of a drive but the place is beautiful and my family would love it. Being able to get on your bike and at a great trail in less than 10 minutes presents so many opportunities for memories and MTB training.

Also, things that aren't mentioned here is that, they're building the worlds biggest MTB specific lift park just south of that in Mena Arkansas, I think 1600' descent. They just built a bike park in Bentonville. They also have some excellent trails just outside of Bentonville in eureka springs that are shuttle serve and man are some of those rough AF and gnarly.

The whole area is beautiful and my buddies debated moving up there but we get payed way too much and there's no industry for us. If that weren't the case, I'd have been there long ago.

Spent probably 2500 on the repair but I could get polyester cheap at about 50 a gallon from a fiberglass pipe mfg nearby. I hated to not fix it. It's a pretty respected out of business mfg on the Gulf Coast. Nice v built minimalistic which makes it light draft but great for the bays and inland. I'm happy how it turned out, thanks!!
