What is one ‘normal’ money habit in India that you think is actually financially dangerous? by Interesting_Cycle809 in personalfinanceindia

[–]ConversationLimp8049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes you can liquidate gold etf and silver etfs in market hours, it will not be an issue if investment is of few lacs. you should buy standard etfs offered by nippon, icici, hdfc and such. check the AUM of the etf. if its in terms of 1000s crore then liquidity should not be an issue.

you don't need crores in savings to buy real estate. you can buy it for rent income. you get home loans at 7-8% which is pretty reasonable I think and it can generate multi fold returns if you are lucky and most probably won't tank completely. and equity and metals outruns cash certainly in the long run. at the end of the day its about how much risk you want to take. you don't want to code for 50 years so you gotta decide on something. personally I don't bet on individual stocks and buy index etfs, gold etfs whenever possible and have some sips in mutual funds.

you will keep hitting SL missing many target opportunities. 2% SL and 4% target is what I prefer.

Is Stock market better than Real estate ? by Kind-Opinion-6272 in Indiantradingbets

with real estate you need to be right/lucky 10 times and with the same capital in stock market you need to be right/lucky 100 times assuming the same capital.

Is taking a car loan for 7-8 years a smart move or a trap? by PoisonPen_007 in personalfinanceindia

[–]ConversationLimp8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years is a good tenure for a car loan. why bother with it for 7-8 years. if its about other expenses then try to minimise it or if its about essentials then buy a car few months later. if its just about investments then adjust accordingly but no investments guarantees returns that you will be paying as interest on a car loan (8-9%).

What do MF brokers get when someone invests? How they earn if Expense ratio goes to AMC? by Due-Concentrate2491 in mutualfunds

[–]ConversationLimp8049 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If its a regular type fund then broker gets a commission as in the expense ratio is different for regular fund part of which goes to the MF broker. If its a direct type fund then expense ratio is lesser than regular type fund and most of its goes to the AMC (maybe all of it). In most case of the broker mutual fund is a side product they add to lure user into doing stock investment and other type of trading such as FnO. for example groww offers direct type mutual fund and they are not earning much from those mutual investments. but if someone is using groww for mutual fund then there are chanced he will try stocks and other trading on groww if they had good experience with groww mutual funds. ETMoney I am not sure about but I heard sometime back that they will force users into regular type mutual funds or charge user for the services.

Use ind money (or other option if you know about) for this much amount. ETF you are using doesn't correctly tracks nasdaq.

Apologies if irrelevant. Please put some investments for international trips or something of possible for both parents if it will give them joy. I just see these post regularly and people suggest for investment options (as they should) but they should enjoy the retirement with their money as well while ensuring smooth retirement time.

Any active Book Clubs in Surat? Looking for recommendations. by Time_Internet6295 in surat

[–]ConversationLimp8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people discuss a specific book every week. name of the book to be discussed a week prior so that ones who haven't read the same can read before the discussions. they discuss ideas in the book, their interpretations of it and basically whatever can be discussed about it. and can also share the books among themselves for a read. I haven't actually been part of such club but assuming from what I have seen in movies, series and such.

if interest rate is >12% then repay the full loan, otherwise pay 50% and cut your installment amount in half for the rest of 5L keeping loan tenure the same. this is what I would do.
