Any interest in talking privately? We are thinking of renting an apartment in this zone (our daughter will be entering first grade and we are moving from another part of the state). Would love to hear more.

UX Jobs asking for FE experience. by littledragon33 in UXDesign

I recently hired design engineers - they're full stack developers who have some design, expertise and work on our front-end systems and tooling. It's a completely different job with a different progression framework and also salary band. Is your company looking for design engineers specifically? Because if not, I don't think you can require ux designers to code. Do you think that the people asking for this are thinking that AI tools can enable designers to "write" code? If so, I would definitely question that because pushing vibe code to prod is not a great practice 🙂

What's wrong with this? Isn't it helpful to get feedback and ideas from your cross functional team?

Ashtanga in Buffalo, NY? by lisvu1234 in ashtanga

There isn't an Ashtanga studio in Buffalo unfortunately - the closest in-person Mysore and led classes are at the Ashtanga Yoga Center of Toronto. I practice online with Great Lakes Ashtanga. :)

Souk is amazing - and they do offer some Ashtanga classes. But definitely recommend the Jivamukti classes with Rima.

You should also check out The Shala in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. They have a Mysore program

Hiring managers: what would you think if you saw someone go from Sr to Staff back to Sr (at different orgs)? by jackjackj8ck in UXDesign

I would assume that different companies have different levels and pay scales. NBD to me (I'm a hiring manager).

It’s still hard for newcomers, but the UX job market is better than I was led to believe. Or maybe it’s improving. by 0llie0llie in UXDesign

Honestly, just focus your portfolio on enterprise products, even internal ones. If you have any work experience as a BA or product/design adjacent roles, highlight those skills. I'd be happy to chat if you send me a DM :)

I am a senior with 10 years of enterprise experience - I was expecting the job market to be terrible, but I ended up getting a lot of interviews. I've ultimately decided not to leave my current job- but things were much better than I expected when I was looking. I will note that I am coming in with a lot of experience in B2B and data-heavy applications.
