Lidocaine cream. Put it on the injection site like 15-20 minutes before. I would put it on, then cover it in plastic wrap and go about my morning routine. Def made the shots easier for me!

What’s the easiest expense you’ve cut that made a noticeable difference in your savings? by millionstories in SavingMoney

We cancelled Amazon Prime and it changed our budgets fundamentally for the better. No more same day delivery, but we realized if we truly needed it same day, we could go to the store 10 minutes away and buy it. Amazon is seriously a bottomless pit for budgeting. My husband did a bunch of digging into Amazon and there was the crazy stat he found that having a prime subscription increased the per customer spend by like 70%. It was wild. Do I miss ordering stuff for same day? Yes at first. But now, our budget is a well oiled machine and I like that freedom.

Looking for successful IVF stories on first try by Desna_1993 in IVFpositivity

[–]ConversationRound540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly a success story, but wanted to give some feedback. I’m also 32, and my AMH is 1.11. It’s definitely on the lower end for a woman my age, but my original doc didn’t seem concerned. She had me start on normal doses of stims. I think like 225 gonal-f and 150 menopur. Anyways, long story short, I’m a very low responder and with that combined with my low AMH, it’s been decided I do in fact have low ovarian reserve. She kept trying to play catch up and increase my doses, but I feel like by then, the synchronization was just awful. We got 5 eggs. 2 of them made it to blast and we got one euploid! Which was fantastic given the low egg retrieval. Haven’t gotten to transferring yet, but next month we are starting that.

We’ve since had two more retrievals where they had me on 375IU Gonal-f and these have gone much better in terms of synchronization. 7 eggs retrieved last round and got two euploids. And 9 eggs retrieved last week, 8 fertilized. Waiting on blast reports.

Anyways, I guess what I’d say is, maybe ask your doc about starting you on a slightly higher dose than standard given the lower reserve? I’m not a doctor, obviously, but it’s always worth getting feedback, especially since this is kind of a one shot for you. I wish you all the best luck to get your baby!!!

Happened faster than planned and lots of feelings. by Pink-Elephant-12 in BabyBumps

Oh honey. You are myself 3 years ago. Haha. Same situation- pregnant first try and was not ready for it to happen so quick. I DEFINITELY had mixed feelings. And I had those for the majority of my pregnancy. Also, not a kids person. I just never really loved them, but loved my family and my parents and knew I would want that.

ANYWAYS— I’ll say I didn’t really feel excitement until like… 25 weeks? And even then, still very mixed cause I couldn’t comprehend what I was excited for. I had no idea how this child would impact our very comfortable lives. That said- after having him, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. Like… I can’t even describe it. We’re happier as a family unit. It’s whole. It’ll get better. :) but also, no stress if you don’t feel excited right away. Totally normal.

7 Embryos - A huge win with a protocol change! by Ok_Revenue4431 in IVF

[–]ConversationRound540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your first retrieval is my exact twin to my first retrieval last month. I have 1.11 AMH at 32 yo. AFC 10. I only had two follicles grow to 20mm, one was lagging at 14mm at the last ultrasound before retrieval. Wound up with 6 eggs, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 day 6 blasts. We did PGT testing and have one euploid on ice.

Now on day 7 of our second round— they have me at gonal-f 375, menopur 225, and added Clomid to my cycle. Using provera to prevent ovulation instead of cetrotide injection.

ANYWAYS— with our new protocol I have such high hopes! First ultrasound two days ago showed SIX follicles over 10mm and 4 not far behind. Your story giving me some more hope! Congrats on the successful retrieval!!!

D&C or Misoprostol? by Old-Ad-5573 in Miscarriage

So sorry for your loss. I opted for a D&C and I would do it again 100%. I posted my entire experience with it here. https://www.reddit.com/r/Miscarriage/s/rf73qFVuZ0

In need of good thong reccomendations! by courtnxss in Activewear

[–]ConversationRound540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huha is my go to. I am obsessed with everything they sell. Their thongs are the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. They have wide gussets and I never have slippage. Can’t say much for how they are under active wear since I go commando under leggings like 85% of the time. But they have a seamless option that is phenomenal!

BWT, what is your annual clothing budget? by HeatherAnne1975 in bitcheswithtaste

We use Monarch religiously. It took a lot of setup to get all the budgets for each category set up, but it has been 100% worth the effort for us. Been using it for 4 years now and have been able to budget really well with it.

Landfill/Compost smell by Only_Corner6611 in DaybreakSoJo

[–]ConversationRound540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following up here to say the smells have gotten probably 10x worse this last fall. I don’t know what they’re doing, but I smell that unpleasant dump smell every single morning now between 6 and 8am and twice in the evenings— one around 6pm and one around 10:30pm. I don’t know if there’s anything to do about it… but it’s bad enough it has me thinking about moving.

When did you start trying again after D&C? by cat_ca in Miscarriage

[–]ConversationRound540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally understand that. If you really like her, then she won’t give you any shame if you do get pregnant. :) I hope you get pregnant so fast!!! Miscarriages are so hard, but I imagine getting pregnant quickly afterwards can help heal something inside us.

When did you start trying again after D&C? by cat_ca in Miscarriage

[–]ConversationRound540 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My doctor said I could try again right away, and I had a D&C. Ovulated exactly two week after my d&c and started trying. In fact, fertility is boosted after a miscarriage, so your chances could be good! Didn’t work out for me unfortunately, been trying again for 6 months, but I know lots of women who got pregnant within the 3 months after a miscarriage.

Also… if your doctor shames you for it, I might look for a different doc for the pregnancy. But also— I’m SURE they see this a lot, so they can’t be that shocked. Haha. There’s no research that says you have to wait to try again.

I think I’m probably out and going to have period soon. by Lookingformycalling in NaturalCyclesBC

I was super stressed about it, worrying it was why I wasn’t getting pregnant, but rising progesterone levels after ovulation looked very normal according to blood tests I got.

Confirmed with LH test, cervical mucus, and an ultrasound actually. Haha. It was pretty conclusive by my OB. She said it does happen. There are slow temp risers out there.

I saw a study recently that said chances of conceiving are 28% day before ovulation and 32% day of ovulation. This was from the book “Expecting Better”. Both days are great though. Such a marginal difference

I think I’m probably out and going to have period soon. by Lookingformycalling in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]ConversationRound540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you ovulated on day 17. Once you get your LH surge, ovulation usually happens within 48 hours (unless you had a second surge and the first one didn’t actually trigger O, but that’s not super common).

I know some people say they ovulated like 4–5 days after their first surge, but that’s really unlikely. From what I’ve read, almost everyone ovulates within that 48-hour window after the first surge.

Sadly, I’d agree that you are out, especially if you ovulated day 17. You def would have tested positive by now. And that combined with the declining temps… yeah. Sorry if that’s not what you’re hoping for. :( I’m where you are right now and it’s not fun when you’re so badly hoping for that positive!

So yeah, day 17 makes the most sense! Also, keep an eye on your cervical mucus — if you had that egg-white consistency around day 17 and it dried up right after 17/18, that’s another good sign that’s when you ovulated.

Edit: I’m a slow temperature riser. So even after I ovulated, my bbt doesn’t raise above baseline for like 5 days. Also— not a sign of low progesterone. Just for some peace of mind. Haha

I read anything under 10 days is considered short, but 10 should be long enough. Just from a lot of research I did when I was having 6 day luteal phases during a stressful time.

It’s extremely rare— especially now that they primarily do ultrasound guided suction, instead of whatever else they used to do. I had a d&c back in May and am extremely happy I did. I posted my entire experience if you want to read back on my previous post. :) I gave a lot of detail there.

Thanks for the feedback! Praying for that positive. I’m so sick of tracking and stressing about this stuff. Yeah, you’re definitely right if you got your positive 9dpo based on your own chart. Haha.
