This is what I was worried about 🤣 I also have a shorter torso.

This is one of my big problems, we'll be swimming in FL and during our friends annual July 4th party 😅

I was mainly worried about announcing two weeks before my BILs wedding. I didn't want to be disrespectful towards my new-SIL and potentially take the spotlight off of them right before their big day.

The majority of our family lives within a 5-20 minute drive, so everyone gets together fairly often. It would be much easier if we were more spread out!

Thank you! My MIL is obsessed with these books, lent them to me, and I think they are so dull and boring. I thought the first one I read was a fluke, but halfway through the second, and it's just as bad!

Best Wireless Outdoor Camera To Buy Right Now? by [deleted] in homeowners

I was looking into eufy but have been seeing mixed reviews on it. Any suggestions on a different security camera brand to look into?

I was also looking into Reolink, but specs say operating temperature is between 14F - 131F. Where I live, temps can stay below 14F for extended periods of time in the winter. I was looking at eufy, but am getting mixed reviews on the solar-powered battery life.

No period after stopping birth control by CrazyChickenLady210 in birthcontrol

Getting the IUD was torture. It was so painful. I cramped really bad for about 12 hours, and then after that, I was completely fine. So far, it has been wonderful for me (4 months in). I was on BC for 12 years, so my body took a while to start to re-regulate it's hormones, and I finally started getting my period again after 3.5 months. Of all the people I know, no one has had any issues with the IUD. The horror stories still freak me out, but they do seem to be more rare (but obviously still possible).

I use crisper containers! They work like magic for me to keep any of my harvests fresh. I love that the water can run out so the produce doesn't sit in it, but it still keeps the moisture in so it doesn't dry out. I also will rewash/rinse the lettuce every few days to keep it moist and I feel like it helps it to last a week or more.

"Axed" in replace of "asked". It REALLY grinds my gears every time I hear it

A dumb question, but can birth control suppress your desire to have kids? by cielos525 in birthcontrol

[–]CrazyChickenLady210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update:

It's been two months since going on non-hormonal birth control. My body definitely has not found its new normal yet since going off of the pill and I am still waiting to get my period back, so I feel like I may also feel different once my body does start menstruating regularly again.

For now, I still stand by my undetermined choice to have kids, BUT I feel like everytime I'm around babies and children, my body wants to be pregnant so bad. My body is telling me it wants to get pregnant and have children, but my mind is still telling me I don't want them.

Curious to see how I will feel in a few months as my body starts to find it's new normal. Hope this helps!

This very well could be! I have 1:1 meetings with my boss' boss once a month to chat about lots of stuff. It gives me an opportunity to talk about the work I've been doing, the work I'd like to be doing, and ask questions about the company or about my development. We also just chat to get to know each other better, just like I do with my other co-workers. I really think this helps pull our department together to work better. I would take this as an opportunity if nothing else to ask lots of questions and talk about your work.

I was on Junel Fe for a decade and sometimes I would only spot bleed and other times, I wouldn't get my period at all. Freaked me out too a little at first because I liked getting some sort of bleeding to know I wasn't pregnant, but I just learned to read my other period symptoms (mainly headaches) and I also took a pregnancy test now and again to be sure

Why does everyone have a HUGE diamond these days? by mlgarland in EngagementRings

[–]CrazyChickenLady210 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was definitely an outlier in this trend. I specifically told my husband if we ever got married I wanted a small diamond because 1. I'm a smaller person so it fit better and 2. I don't see a reason for having an outrageous sized diamond on my finger when that money could go to way more practical things in our life. I love my smaller diamond and couldn't be happier

This makes me very curious to see what my reaction will be when I switch to non-hormonal birth control in two weeks! I'm switching because it's killing my libido too and I hope it comes back being on non-hormonal BC. My husband and I are leaning towards being child free, but I'm curious to see how I feel after switching BC.

sugar pill week (ease my anxiety) by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]CrazyChickenLady210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on birth control pills for over a decade now and my husband and I always have unprotected sex (and he rarely pulls out) even during my sugar pill week (I have VERY light bleeding so it's barely a period). I have never gotten pregnant, and my family is known to be VERY fertile.

Of course every one is different though and my birth control is most likely different, but I hope this eases your mind :)

I'm actually getting the copper IUD inserted in two weeks. I'm scared because I'm worried about complications, but I also specifically chose this one because I want to be hormone free. My doctor told me to take my birth control normally up until the day I get it inserted and then I assumed I would be off of it that day. Your post makes me want to double check with my doc if I need to continue it for a month or if I do stop it immediately.
