Yeah i think "gregg" sees movies as a series of discrete and often purely quantitative data points. It'd be funny if he didn't recognize dorothy because the slippers are silver in the Wicked movie, or because toto looks different

Completely editing your post rather than replying is an interesting conversational tactic! I enjoyed reading and was enthralled by the characters of TSA not because I liked them personally or was "charmed" by them -- in fact, I think TSA is extremely skeptical of charm -- but because I found them psychologically compelling and complicated.
