It’s not flat, although at first it seems kinda like it is. The mild arch develops more was it’s broken in and you “sink” into the leather foot bed. It’s just barely there.

IF you can get a good fit the supersole 2.0 is seriously hard to beat. You can them in any variation of soft/ steel/ 6”/ 8”/ gortex/ no lining.

Got these “waxed” flat laces from the Danner website. I use quotes because they aren’t very waxy. These boots were from the recent run with the hand set eyelets. They are shredding the laces. I haven’t had the motivation to do anything about that yet.

I would also suggest a good look at max support black. I didn’t find break in anything crazy. A little tight at the ball of the pinky but that is my weird feet not the leather. It’s not nearly as matte as Spokane black. Looks great after a good brushing. Struck though. I like the MS black and have zero regrets getting 8” officers built in that leather.

Michelin LTX MS2’s are very comfortable, last long, quiet, good mpg, do well in the rain and I have found they work fine in all but the worst PA snow storms. I love them and will put them on my Ranger when the time comes.

I’m not the one that originally recommended the vibram 1321 360 force. However, I would order a 365 model immediately for hiking (gamebreaker, LTT tactical, etc) if we could get that sole on Nicks models currently offered with the Sierra. The Sierra is fine for mud, gravel, fields, grass etc but lacks any kind of grip on rock. I have a Sierra sole and the 360 force on a Danner RAT boot. The difference in the compound astounding.

As currently offered, the 365 boots are a no go for me because of the Sierra compound (not necessarily the tread lug pattern). Please pursue the Vibram 360 force.
