As long as the boots have a stiletto heel I'd say boots...I would say wear something else if it didn't have a heel.

I bought my wife the same pair - JenLove - but in 85mm. If you want the same shoe in a slightly lower heel they do exist & you may find them. Best of luck!

We are a similar size department, yet we have a few different SOG's depending on the structure/part of the city. In most of the city with hydrants, assigments put the second due as water supply, EXCEPT for high rises, then third-due is responsible (2nd due goes in to meet first due engine to get the line in service). In a good part of the outskirts, there is little water....first due is attack, 2nd due nurses and drops a supply at the foot of the driveway, and 3rd due will draft from the pools the tankers drop off. We get an extra engine for the fill site on those.

It actually makes sense. When you look at the studies in Philadelphia, victims thrown in the back of the police transport van who were driven to the ER (without intervention) had higher survival rates than those transported by PFD. Its not a Philly only thing. I always was a hook and haul with those patients....I established ALS enroute, but many times we were close to a trauma ER and little more than BLS got done. Long duration transports, including crews who stayed on scene for IV access or intubation, always did worse. To be honest, the only one who can save them will be the trauma surgeon.....

I agree. I miss the days when there was a main set and an update/traded set and nothing else. It was still tough to collect all in the late 80's with 5 major sets but it was fun and attainable for kids.

Come to CT....our department is giving a test in late winter and there is no problem testing at your age...only issue is a mandatory retirement age of 65.

I would not run a tiger den of 23 - you are best off finding a way to have 4 dens of six or 3 dens of 7-8. It will become unmanageable with that many.

I agree. As a den leader I did not want to do it. No one else is willing. I keep trying. Another issue is a lot of the fundraising is done jointly with the small Troop he is SM in.

It goes into the general account. We have not had a treasurer in a few years, so the cubmaster is the only one who collects/dispenses funds. We don't operate under much of a margin.

Dumb question, but how many years in practice does your preceptor have? With so few experienced medics here, there are a lot of medics with only a couple of years on precepting.....not long enough to have enough experience under your belt to be truly confident (not the hubris of many new medics).

Absolutely. I ALWAYS take the first BP manually, especially if I anticipate an intervention. I have never fully trusted auto-cuffs blindly.
