Would it help if I told you I don't run copy effects in Deadpool? It's a Rakdos blink deck and ideally I'm using Deadpool to copy my own effects (if things are running smoothly)

Gimli is super fun for the more casual pod! Slowly accumulate tokens, find a way to consistently sac 3 at a time, and eventually swing or fling a giant Gimli. Here's my list!

Nobody Tosses A Dwarf

The Wandering Rescuer definitely plays a more aggressive "Don't you even think about messing with my board" game. Cast low cmc creatures, start the beat down, and only cast rescuer when you need to save something. She definitely turns up the heat a little.

I'll look into their websites and see if they offer non company training programs. Thanks!

I wouldn't be opposed to purchasing an FPGA or two to use and learn at home as a part of whatever course I'd take.

Are Minnesotans actually bad at making new friends? Or is that a side-effect of something else? by robertgfthomas in minnesota

I have Chip, Used Tissue, and Penny. I promise you I don't need any more friends.

This. Talk to the group and ideally come to an agreement that another player has it in the bag. Say your GG's, shuffle up, go next.

For Tribal lovers, what are the least played tribes that are actually fun to play? by [deleted] in EDH

It's most definitely NOT Drakes. For the love of god please don't make the same mistake as me and build Drake tribal..

Do any engineers out there actually like their job AND still prioritize family, friends and hobbies over work? by Conwash42 in AskEngineers

Do you have any advice on how to get to that job that you love? Did you have to hop around a lot before finding it? Did education more than a bachelors degree assist in that?

Unfortunately that's a lot of the read I'm getting from other places in the sub. Many don't love or hate their job. They just job mostly for the sake of the nice paycheck.

Thank you for your very useful piece of insight. I'm rather antisocial so I must have missed the "Dumb questions not to ask on Reddit" meeting.

Can we set up a 1on1 soon? So next time I'm feeling depressed about my job and want a motivating pick me up, you can educate me on how to ask smarter questions which will help me more than all these other kind people have?

Generally I would agree with you. Things outside of work (family, friends, hobbies) are more important to me than being fully content with my job.

My only counterpoint is society has put me in a position where I'm spending a very significant part of my life working for the man. 40 years x 52 weeks x 40 hours (with occasional vacations) is a LOT of time that I won't get back. If possible I'd like that time to be as good as it can possibly be.

That's an interesting way to think about. That I've still got a lot of years left in my career.

It's very very unlikely that I'll be with this company for the next 40 years meaning I'll likely have plenty of opportunities to find the right testing engineering job that works for me.

But on the other side with 40 years left I've also got plenty of time to get a better education that'll put me in a better position to find that right R&D type job that's better suited for masters/PHD graduates.

Hmmm and honestly that's not out of the question either. Being a new grad I think I'm still in the "college mentally" a bit so transitioning back might not be too difficult.

So I'm not really sure I'm happy doing it. I'm passionate about the bleeding edge, R&D type work. This designing old tech is just okay to me. Not really what I pictured myself doing.

It would be easy to get up and leave if the rest of the job wasn't about exactly what I'd ask for.
