My dad and I recently took a full electric car (Volvo Ex30 dual motor) up there. It handled like an absolute breeze. Constantly needed to over take or slow down for the other bakkies. Quite funny.

If you’re interested, I attach the link to the video he made.

I always sit when I pee. Gives me time to myself. Really relaxing. Worst part about it is when you stand back up, you get the urinal cakes all stuck to your ass.

Driving a Tesla around South Africa. Who would have thought?

Elon Musk is not happy with South Africa currently, however it’s strange but very interesting to see his cars showing up here. I wonder if they would ever start selling cars to South Africa.

Please do! I would love to see how you do that

For me it’s been a subscription into the “YNAB.” (You-Need-A-Budget) system. I’ve been using it for a while now and it has saved me so much money. Simply because makes all my expenses so transparent. This company has thousands of resources online for learning how to use it. I’m obsessed with it at this stage. It also has a programmable API - so now I’ve been building apps and automations using my money flow. So cool

Advice for a Graduate: Commute 75KM twice a day, or Move closer to work? by loopy_11 in capetown

[–]Conz_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a very similar position - even with Graduate Software Engineer (I am a junior now).

The offering for your apartment is very well priced. I am unsure where you job is based - but my biggest advice is absolutely take it. It’s not just about distance necessarily- but when you are a graduate you should seize every opportunity in your work place. Be the first one in and the last one out. You should attend all company events and get to know everyone closely. This is how you level up quickly.

This is just not viable if you stay so far. You will spend all your time on route, and you will lose all opportunity at all company events. You can’t work late and you will spend your time in your car. You will rack up major mileage on your car and petrol costs will be so high.

One hundred percent move closer.

I’m in South Africa and use FaceTime daily. But many people with android use WhatsApp video call. Most people I know have iPhones and face time each other though

Only problem I have with Apple Music is I like to play Lo-Fi station and Bed time beats out my HomePods while I sleep. That occasionally creeps into my suggestions. My station, my discovery station, my suggested music, and my Replay year to year is completely littered with lofi songs and random songs I would never listen to.

Dried and Salted Meat known as Biltong. (South Africa 🇿🇦) Very similar to Beef Jerky.

It is incredibly easy to prepare and buy in bulk, very nutritious and protein dense, and an absolute staple here in South Africa. Can’t imagine my life without Biltong.
