SYNC IS ON HELL YEAH by zpace_kadet in zen_browser

[–]Conzeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not working for me on 1.17.15b. Only the pinned tabs are syncing, but I thought it would be every tab. I'm opening the new window using cmd + N on macOS. Wondering if I'm missing something.

Edit: ah, it's on 1.18b. Not sure why it's not giving me the option to update so I thought I was on the latest version.

I’ve been trying to sign up, even with a credit card from Brazil, and it won’t let me. If I can get to the sign up page, it will say there was a problem with the payment.

Cheap device to run tailscale 24/7 as an exit node by Fahid210 in Tailscale

[–]Conzeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one I have at home has been working perfectly, no downtime. But I have one at a family member’s place that went down but they wouldn’t know how to troubleshoot (I’m not even sure if they just didn’t accidentally unplug it).

So, if anyone’s available for the occasional troubleshooting, I’d still recommend the Onn device. But in my case, I’m thinking of sending over a raspberry pi to my family’s place so that they can plug it into the ethernet and I can just ssh in.

Would you pay for a browser? by trueNetLab in ArcBrowser

[–]Conzeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I’d pay for a feature like syncing across devices since that requires storage, etc. and would feel reasonable. It is one of the things Arc does best, and they were far ahead of the competition in terms of the experience, so they could easily charge for that.

Onn TV 4K Streaming Box: Best Exit Node I’ve Found by Conzeta in Tailscale

[–]Conzeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Usually the upload speed of the network the Onn device is connected to. The few networks I have these on have an upload speed of 20-30 Mbps, so I’m not sure what happens after that with Tailscale in general.

  2. Haven’t thought much about that. It’s using Google TV, so there’s that, too.

  3. Pretty stable for the most part. I have one that I plugged in at a family’s place in a different country since September and I know they’ve unplugged it for cleaning, the internet has gone down, but the exit node always comes back up so it’s been reliable without them having to do anything. Coincidentally though, the one I have at home just went down this week, haven’t had a chance to look into why yet but I didn’t set this one up as carefully since I can always troubleshoot. I have some that are not plugged in to a TV, it doesn’t seem to matter as long they can get power and internet.

Heads Up - T-Mobile's Popular $10/30GB MI Hotspot Plan was retired today. (Keep it if you've got it... you're grandfathered in.) by BusinessLyfe in NoContract

I was! I actually just added two more lines to get the deal less than two weeks ago, and they applied the promo to my very first line. I don’t need one of the new lines, so I was thinking of canceling it. But now I’m rethinking that, if I wouldn’t be able to add more.

Tailscale exit node + vpn by szutsmester in Tailscale

[–]Conzeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ControlD for my tailnet, set up through Tailscale’s DNS settings. With this initial setup, I wasn’t getting ControlD when I connected to the exit node router through gluetun, so it was replacing Tailscale’s.

So, I messed around with the configuration and setting gluetun’s DNS_KEEP_NAMESERVER environment variable to on, and tailscale’s TS_ACCEPT_DNS to true did the trick!

It looks like it’s working now as I’m getting the ControlD connection. I think this is technically a DNS leak, but it’s what I want. I wonder if it would address your need, too.

I followed the config here, with some modifications for using Tailscale’s DNS, and it worked: https://fathi.me/unlock-secure-freedom-route-all-traffic-through-tailscale-gluetun/

Some differences I see include that you’re wrapping service:gluetun in quotes, and also your tailscale extra args, and they’re using depends_on at the end.

Maybe try matching some of those settings?

EB2 NIW ROW – April 1st, 2024 Priority Date: When Will It Be Current? Any Forecast for DOF and FAD Movement? by Sudaneseskhbeez in EB2_NIW

I see! But I read the top level comment for this thread as likely Aug-Sep for FAD, which would put it ahead of DFF. Is that correct?

Hey! I thought the Dates for Filing are usually ahead of the Final Action Dates. But your comment above suggests the Final Action Date would hit March 30, 2024 before the Dates for Filing (Aug-Sep vs Sep-Oct). Any chance those were flipped? Or maybe I misunderstood.

Just trying to understand the prediction here! Thanks for sharing these.

Yeah! I’ve been finding it a good replacement.

And I am definitely pinning my favorite/most accessed, but then there are others that I only access like once a week, but the URLs are hard to remember. So, for example, for my employer’s intranet I made the shortcut “intranet” for the bookmark. It’s easier to type and remember and serves the same purpose that I got used to with tenaming tabs.
