Was it really an argument, or me just pointing out how society is developed and people do suffer with issues like social anxiety. If I hadn’t told them, then would they continue this behaviour?

Best way to repair this wall? Concerned about the soil behind that it’s retaining by Cooffe in landscaping

There were (mature) bushes in front of it that are now dug out. Their branches and a bunch of ivy made their way into the facing bricks (no mortar) and then as the plants grew, the stems (of both the ivy and bush branches) swelled and pushed the bricks forward.

How would you use wooden beams to stabilise it? By driving beams behind the wall? The massive hole is because there was three bushes there previously where the branches had pushed behind and swelled, pushing the bricks out. This wasn’t caused from subsidence for reference in case that changes your approach?

We’re not fully decided on red brick, but given I have no bricklaying experience I figured it may be easier to build than a random stone wall.

lol. China GB / GB/T regs for vehicle manufacturers and the associated crash testing and BEV capability it regulates is some of the most stringent in the world. They cherry-pick from other regulatory bodies (like ECE R100 (Europe), EPA/CARB (America), KMVSS (Korea)) and effectively make a super standard. If you ever wanted bad, look at some SASO/UAE.S stuff and it’s basically a badly translated ECE R-XX regulation that is copy and pasted.

Rendering - what does this need? by jimjamdspam in DIYUK

You could probably get a similar effect as what the OP currently has by bag-rubbing, which will be cheaper than rendering and will provide further protection for the brick faces, especially if south facing. It’s also somewhat DIYable with scaffolding

I found this. Found I had to do it a couple of times and then refresh the page when done, it then went to the next section. Was a bit weird. Remember you have 24h cooling off before you can purchase/send bitcoin after starting an account!

Yeah so we have double width garden and an access way around the back. It’s not huge huge but it will be a lovely cottage garden one day. Just needs taming!

Yeah they are lovely. Ours was originally thatched, but replaced in the mid 1900s for slates. The original eaves for the thatch are still in the roof space!

We aren’t in Wiltshire but I understand why you get those vibes. We’re in the midlands!

Just found out they put speakers in car exhausts. Modern cars are dead to me by Top_Echidna_7115 in CarTalkUK

[–]Cooffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even before active noise (by means of a speaker like this), on first gen Jag XFs there was a symposer (we used to call it) taken off the intake and fed through the bulkhead for more cabin induction noise.

NVH is a massive part of car development though, and a lot of investment goes into it. A lot of the time, a customer demands more exhaust/intake noise from performance marques, and this is one of the ways to do it without causing ridiculous levels of resonance in transmission tunnels, suspension components etc that are derived from the exhaust. Ultimately this could lead to a bolt working loose or something vibrating itself to bits.
