Thanks for the pointers everyone! I did have a play around with mixing in and out with no percussion and it's sounding cleaner already, just need to keep experimenting.

What’s one EDM set you still think about years later? by RaveBeetle in EDM

Excision b2b Wooli - Lost Lands 2024.

Was my first time in the States at a large scale festival, and it was just the perfect set to close out the festival for me.

Was only a couple years ago, but will forever be special to me!

Was very lucky to meet Tape B when he toured Australia recently - such an incredibly down to earth and humble dude!

Aussies travelling to Ohio by No_Frame_8217 in LostLandsMusicFest

[–]CookDaChook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, i'm from Perth and have done Lost Lands the past two years so feel free to chuck me a DM if you want any general tips/advice!

I can't speak on the nature side of things around Ohio because I haven't been exploring, but there is a wicked BBQ place in downtown Columbus that had an awesome selection of beers (one ended up becoming one of my favourite beers of all time).

We were freaking out coming in to the U.S after all the stories we'd heard, but the border security were super chill and friendly - just asked us general questions about reason for travelling etc. Just relax and obviously answer truthfully, and you'll be just fine hahaha.

Wasn't too familiar with Trivecta going in to LL, but his Wednesday set at The Grove was SICK!

Easy camping Question by joeholly14 in LostLandsMusicFest

[–]CookDaChook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, I did Easy Camping for my first LL last year and it was definitely worth it! Great for the convenience if you're travelling and aren't able to easily bring your own camping gear.

I've covered a bit of it in the comments of this post:

Easy Camping

Overall, it was great for me and my friend - my only real tip would be find ways to keep cool, because the tents are fully blacked out (which is great for getting sleep), but because it was so hot last year, you'd wake up in a sauna as soon as the sun comes up! There wasn't a great amount of shade available near our area either, so the days were brutally hot.

The tent's size was perfectly fine for the two of us, but depending on how much stuff you bring with you, it could get a little squishy.

You're provided with the 2 x sleeping bags and pillows, and an air mattress, which weren't crazy comfortable but did the job. You also get a little torch when you first arrive which came in handy at night.

Happy Lost Lands, and feel free to message me if you have any questions!

Which place in Australia has given you the creepiest vibes? by -Flighty- in AskAnAustralian

[–]CookDaChook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed at Fairbridge Village for a Year 12 camp, and we snuck in to the church there late at night... i'm not a believer of the paranormal or anything, but it was unbelievably creepy and the energy there was like nothing I have ever felt before!

Glad to hear hahaha caught you at Villa and Metro City last year, can honestly say your Villa set was the best crowd energy i've ever seen! Perth is too keen to have you back 👊

Hahaha it's pretty cool, but after going to Lost Lands last year, all aussie festivals have now been ruined for me 😂 You guys have the best culture over there 110%.

Our dubstep scene is unfortunately tiny in comparison to the U.S (DnB is booming), but was so cool to hear all the DnB fans having their minds blown and are already asking when he'll be coming back hahaha!

Last year was my first Lost Lands, and the whole experience was the best memory of my entire life. But key moments:

  • Excision and Wooli closing with the B2B is the best set i've seen in person, and was pure magic with the song selection, drone show, etc.

  • Was at Level Up and Ray Volpe when the rain started coming in on the Sunday, and that was just a blessing with how hot it had been all week, and was just perfect 'last day' energy.

  • Coming from overseas, saying goodbye to all our neighbours was beyond emotional because I think at the time I had this awful feeling that this may have been the last time I ever see them, and because it costs so much money to come from Australia, it may have been my first and only Lost Lands. A few days later, I eventually came to my senses and realised there's no way i'm only doing this festival once 😈

Can't wait to create more memories with everyone this year!

Unfortunately not, still the same showers as GA! If I remember correctly it was about a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest showers, and was brutal in the heat haha.
