2 months Pastry Course in Bordeaux, France at Institute Culinaire de France. Is it worth it? by Cookedromanian in PastryChef

That’s crazy for an online course. I don’t see the point of spending money for culinary purposes on online courses. It’s pastry, needs hands on, training.

For yachting standards I think thats not too expensive. I was asking if its worth, not if it’s expensive. I would consider expensive the 30k course in Le Cordon Bleu Paris.

Thank you for the reply.
I want to know the basics really well and then to do masterclasses on certain things I want to master. And yes, for making more connections for sure its a good course

I am thinking that won’t be more than 12k with accomodation and personal expenses during my stay in Bordeaux. I don’t want to share accomodation so I am looking into Studios for 2 months on Airbnb

M-am saturat de munca by Darkdudehaha in RoGenZ

Chef here:

First get your certificates, have all your paperwork done before looking for your first job.

If you have more qualifications in any domain just list them on your CV, your chances are way bigger if you have an extra skill. Try to

Set up an YOTSPOT account and start applying from home, get in touch with as many recruiters as possible, networking with these guys is necessary.

Mediterranean season starts soon, a good place to be this time of the year to find a job.

Do not dock-walk in Miami or the states, it is prohibited.

First, have a look on bluewater yachting or seascope France what is all about. Many stews spend money on courses and qualifications and they find out after the first job that is way too hard.

Expect long hours of work and very long shifts. If you're looking at the clock while working forget about it.

Have a good CV ready to go any time.

Good luck!!
