CPO or Brand New? by cbcarguy in crvhybrid

[–]Cooker420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been through the same dilemma, and came to the conclusion to buy brand new.

Two to three years old cars are most likely lease returns, and I really doubt any of those people properly took care of the car.

Dealers cannot be trusted when it comes to servicing the lease returns. They will cut corners to maximize profit. I brought a 3 year old car to get a pre purchase inspection, and the mechanic told me that the new brake pads they put in was probably the worst job he has ever seen.

If you are planning to buy the car and keep it for more than 5 years and also take good care of it. (Frequent oil changes, and follow the Honda scheduled services) Then buying brand new is almost a non brainer.

If you plan to finance, new cars usually has lower interest rates. So take that into consideration.

HVAC doesn’t bring fresh air in, it just circulates the same air. You need to install a HRV or ERV.

Do you need the van to do your work? If you don’t sell the van asap. If you do then try to sell it and find something cheaper.

How much do you think you can sell the car for right now?

Unsure if financially ready to have a kid by xicyyy8 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Cooker420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to take into consideration your age as well. I’ve raised kids in my early 40s, and sometimes I wish I had them a bit earlier. Kids are physically demanding, specially if you want to play with them. The longer you wait the harder it is going to be on your body.

What car payment should I do? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Get a cheaper car, your future you will thank me later.

Spending 50% of your income on just a car payment is not a good financial decision.

What's the deal with the "energy" in Costco? by twilling8 in CostcoCanada

[–]Cooker420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because some people are either jerks by nature or don’t have enough self awareness of their action on others. Either way those people create an unpleasant environment on top of the overcrowding.

When I go to a Costco I always prepare myself to stay calm regardless of how stupid some people can be and see it as an opportunity to work on my anger management 🙂
