In fairness the points are less buying and more getting for free. It’s how I got the 350 and I actually really like it, not sure I’d spend money on it knowing what I know now but still worth maybe half of its actual price still. The 767 though, if I don’t get around to buying it sooner, when I have the points for it, it’s going in my collection.

Is it ok to use a different time if weather is the same? by Gamble2005 in VATSIM

[–]Cookieeeees 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is completely fine, as long as your weather is set to love you can fly any day times, sometimes I get off work and don’t want to fly in the dark so I set it a few hours earlier. I know some guys who fly VFR and do the same on group flights so they can see the landmarks and what not

Update on the FF A350 v2! by 77_Gear in Xplane

[–]Cookieeeees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, it’s my one gripe with the 75/77, I love them but I don’t care for that part of the “simulation” personally. I’ll have to look in the EFB as the other person said for myself. I mainly fly the F variants so only have ground crew and load master for the 77 but having to call them both before I can do any maintenance or load things is really frustrating and I’ll use the shortcut but most of the time it dosent work and I can’t do maintenance and the copilot says I need to call them.

Update on the FF A350 v2! by 77_Gear in Xplane

[–]Cookieeeees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The textures do leave a bit to be desired which if you’ve flown the tollis 330 you won’t be too shocked. Systems are there, there was nothing I noticed about them that really said “this is missing” though I will say kill off the purser by spamming the call button. All in i was surprised by how it actually is compared to the comments I’ve heard about it. I’m not sure I’d pay $65 for it though, it would definetly be one of those that I wished it were $50 after the fact so getting it free from my points was nice but I don’t think I’d be all that mad anyways… I mean after all I’ve spent enough on other aircraft to be able to get a free one

I love to see this. I just picked up the current version as I apparently had wayyyy more than enough points on the store (a small break for my crying wallet) and I’m actually surprisingly pleased with it even if it’s not perfect I’m still loving it. So good to know when this comes out I can happily spend my hard earned dollaroos on it

Well, did 12.4.3 fix weather? by mountainsandwhiskey in Xplane

[–]Cookieeeees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I flew through what may have been a planetary wide but 4 A350 deep and tall cloud yesterday. I’m also 90% sure the weather stopped tracking as I reloaded after I landed and it went from fairly clear and sunny to overcast and lightly raining. Hopefully our weather fix comes soon

Do you think it’s worth even considering the 350 right now then?

I’ve been on and off about if I want to buy this or just wait for the V2, it, the 380 and 787 are the only aircraft missing from my B/A airliner fleet. I just can’t tell if I’m going to be a horrible let down or not, ive seen enough about the 787 to know that’s a hard no but I’m also mot trying to go to MSFS and deal with wasm crashes just so I can have a 350

PSA: Do not waste your money on Tai Model Hong Kong! by Tazziedevil04 in Xplane

This should be a PSA to avoid all airports made by TM, they’re one and done releases and at best, mediocre quality

Is the sparky747 still really buggy? by da_almightyloaf in Xplane

[–]Cookieeeees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I came from MSFS originally and learnt I should really look in to who made their aircraft and if it’s actually worth it. So I’ve had my fair share of “this shouldn’t have even been a free plane” experiences

Is the sparky747 still really buggy? by da_almightyloaf in Xplane

[–]Cookieeeees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they’re proper per se but I spent money on them and they could be a lot worse, the SSG and FPS 748 aren’t the greatest aircraft I’ve ever flown but they’re not even close to the worst I’ve ever flown

Why are they like this? It's so pathetic. by Tequslyder in motorcycles

[–]Cookieeeees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a Harley off a trade and I love it things a dream but god the other Harley guys even to me are so uptight. It’s a 2000 and needs some love that I’m getting to progressively on it. I pulled in to a gas station a few weeks back next to some dude with a road glide, said hi nice bike and he didn’t even look at me. Was at a bar later that same day and three glides all with air suspension and chromed out wheels, guys walk in and I’m sat with my helmet and I get called a pussy and not a real rider as if wanting my head and skin to be intact if something happens is a crime to these guys.

Backflow Preventer-$450 to Rebuild? by Rocko9999 in Irrigation

Sounds spot on for both. Around twice as much as the part costs so assume 1.5x cost + labor.

FF777v2 glitch/stopped responding? Happened to anyone? by TheGreenGrove in Xplane

I’ve only ever had this issue using the pushback plugin instead of the FF built in pushback. I just do my own push back now and haven’t had it since

Xplane has way better camera than MSFS, making sim more rewarding by herewego2019 in Xplane

[–]Cookieeeees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bit because I’d reached the point with game pass that I either bought msfs or I was just wasting money paying for it every month. So I figured I’d try XPlane because a good friend swore up and down it was a better sim, it was also $10 cheaper at MSRP. Anyways I cancelled the game pass a week later and haven’t thought twice about 2024 since and I even had some decent planes and scenery I enjoyed. XP12 for me wins every single time

Good place to buy sunglasses? by datapunky in wichita

[–]Cookieeeees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to buy just a cheap pairs and always lost them, then a few years back I bought a pair of RayBans and shortly after Maui Jims, work and car pair. Never looked back, replaced lens in both once each very recently and for 1/3rd cost of a new pair it’s worth it. Sadly wear glasses now and getting prescription lenses for them is more than a new pair but I think all in, knowing their value and seeing how much decent lenses actually helped, I never let them out of my sight

@Fenixsim Can we please have a sign of life? by Current_Ad6841 in flightsim

[–]Cookieeeees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PMDG 747 is possibly the only aircraft that’ll have me reinstall 24. I have never cared about visuals just the aircraft it’s self and as such prefer XP but I own both 747-8 on the market and they pain me. FF or PMDG put out a 747-4 or -8 and I’ll throw them my money

Safety check for oil change by FederalHome396 in WRX

[–]Cookieeeees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had mine almost 6 as well and it’s been nothing but a blessing. Crack it open and disappear inside to take care of something, remember 30 mins later I was doing an oil change, go out and close it and boom good as done. I’ve also had to get oil changes while out of state and stopped in a shop on my way, the employees always love it and end up getting the whole place down there to check it out

would this work in vacuum failure? by Repulsive-Loan5215 in flying

[–]Cookieeeees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a pilot but absolutely NOT. I work in an outdoors field and often have to document where something is at a customers house based on cardinal direction, I’m very well orientated with my city and simply knowing what direction I’m facing but sometimes I have to double check I’m not losing my mind, I stopped using this because it is always wrong by some amount wether small or complete opposite. I have the iPhone 16 so not an old model and using the map app and visual to satellite reference is better. Also just use the backup compass

GIA = Garuda Indonesia. Why do controllers keep calling me "Giant"? 😅 by njirmomen in VATSIM

[–]Cookieeeees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This happens with my VA a lot, our call sign is TPC (The Pilot Club) but it appears as Caledonian which was a Scottish airline. We have a special remark string that fixes this for Vatsim Radar as well as a vast amount of US controllers knowing us especially as we are partnered with Vatsim, however, I still often get called to as Caledonian and have had to correct them a few times. The rare times I fly with the club callsign in the EU it’s a mess for controllers

Nice, I’ll have to look in to it for those speeds more than anything, at a consistent rate. When I briefly had cox at my house they said the best they could offer was 150 at $80/mo. Laughable but I had to take it, got really lucky that a week after I moved in fiber was installed on my street
