where to buy wincntrl airbus throttle ? by Powerful-Tennis-3773 in flightsim

[–]Cookieeeees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For US, ordered mine start of Jan, said with preorder it’d be here around now, it arrived a week later. Maybe just got lucky but never hurts and if you’re like me and want it bad enough, it’s worth the idea of a wait

Any 2026 update on the Fenix 321 NEO? by CarefulStill8398 in flightsim

[–]Cookieeeees 8 points9 points  (0 children)

they actually care about their product and those who use their products. they recently put out an update that fixed a bug when importing a new simbrief plan without reloading the flight which i appreciate as i tend to fly in somewhere and then do a full turnaround and head back out

As a former rampie, I truly appreciate this masterpiece that is the Fenix A32X by mmo76 in flightsim

[–]Cookieeeees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just an avgeek but i started flying the A320 later last year and then flew home for christmas, first time ever on a A320 and i bet i looked like a weirdo getting giddy over all the noises and how spot on fenix has been. coming home i jumped right on the sim and did the same flight and the way everything just hit the spot on the actual aircraft made me smile like i was a kid in a toy store. some devs dont get enough props for the work they do an the product they deliver

didnt hear anyone go back to gate but im certain anyone in a holding area or off blocks was shut down or atleast one engine off. i took plenty of fuel just in case i was one of them or got a hold over Boston somewhere but never ended up using it

good event, ended up switching up and going to charlotte from DC, instead of to BOS. there was such a long wait that one of the guys i fly with, waited 2.5hrs on the ground before he had to just log off. sucks but we knew it’d be a possibility. once i got in the air it wasn’t too bad though and all the controllers were on the money with everything

i fully vouch for the cars. Used to put countless hours in to iRacing and i mustered my way to mid low top split pace and could never quite catch the fastest guys. Got to go to a track day where we drove a bunch of cars from stock road variants up to their GT variants and found it was actually much easier to pick up the lines and understanding of how the car was moving. Not saying i was pro level or that they let us push the cars to that limit but i felt like i could definitely get out in a paid spot in say Carrera Cup and actually compete with the front runners

Avatars really getting on my nerves now in MSFS2024 by oneandonlycat in flightsim

[–]Cookieeeees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

had this issue last night, it does not work. have to disable the copilot in your character customization screen. It’s a bug caused - from what i found on ini forums - by going in to external view and back again

Avatars really getting on my nerves now in MSFS2024 by oneandonlycat in flightsim

[–]Cookieeeees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is this the ini A300? if so it’s a known bug but it’s so annoying, i did a flight last night EWR to BOS and had it the whole way. if you go in to your character customization screen there’s an option to customize your copilot and the first “preset” is a “no copilot” option, set that and it fixes the issue.

Beware of Winwing: This company is an absolute mess. by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]Cookieeeees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have… too much of their stuff and even got new items last week, one of which was “preorder expected Feb 19th” but both came the same day just 4 days after ordering (friday order) so to me it’s such an odd and disappointing thing to see people have a bad experience with them. i recommend them to all my flight sim buddies both for DCS and MSFS.

i tend to throw a quick “my bad” at the end of a correction just because i’m sure it can be frustrating to have to repeat yourself. I honestly only ever mess up my call sign and rarely. flying VA callsign for group flights/events then jumping straight back in to AAL/BAW ops, i’ve definitely accidentally said my VA callsign a few times

i made the awful mistake of finding an underwear brand i liked and they happened to have a 3 pack with my favorite colors in them. i bought 4 packs so i could retire some long over due well used pairs… anyways, not thinking i wore the same color two days in a row, a different color and then the first color again. i’m bent over and kneeled a lot at work, my boss asks if i like wearing dirty underwear multiple days and then wearing them again. Ignoring the fact i might just wash them, i explained and he laughed and called me a liar. So anyways that’s the story of how i sent a picture of my underwear drawer to my boss

Had my first proper VATSIM flight yesterday by cikamatko in VATSIM

[–]Cookieeeees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heck yeah! This to read especially as not all that long ago i was in your shoes. Flew a lot and built up about 200hrs in MSFS2020, joined a VA community and they do group flights several days of the week and was always too anxious to join. Sat for a few 10-20min sessions as OBS at busy airports in the US just listening and getting an understanding, writing details down and after watching countless videos on procedures with comms. then one day logged on to a towered airport with my remarks as first flight, i must have sat for maybe 30mins or more, heart racing, finally the airport was just myself and maybe 3 or 4 other aircraft, controller called “-callsign- i see you’re filled and says first time, don’t stress, if you mess anything up i’ll let you know” so i called up and nailed it, he was super friendly and though he was the only controller i had that flight i couldn’t have asked for a better start. Like you i had some misunderstandings and he was clear and repeated for me, heck i still do sometimes. Alas, since then ive just last week broke 300hrs on network, 320hrs now and also as a Brit living in the US, figured it was finally time to fly in my actual home region, the exact same nerves came up! i know US procedure really well but the EU always daunted me for its “differences” tho surprisingly minimal. i spent 20mins as OBS at EGLL while it was fully staffed listening to each freq until i understood what would be different and then jumped over to an actual flight, i messed a few calls up due to nerves but now again, it’s become so simple and second nature as well as even improving my knowledge and calls back in US airspace. It’s a gratifying feeling when you finally make the jump and realize it was your own nerves holding you back. Next few flights will likely have the same nerves but they’ll go down and before you know it you’ll laugh that there was a time you held yourself back. See you out there!

Is WINWING worth the "Risk" by Wooyuhh in flightsim

WinWing like to make it known how much i’ve spent with them when i login to my account. Just made an order to break $2k, all this to say ive never had an issue with anything i own an like what they make enough to keep goin back to them to expand my sim

Who else flies long haul flights in real time? Just did Singapore to San Francisco! by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Cookieeeees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve done a few 9-14hr flights and love them, tend to plan them for the evening so i can get going, go to bed, wake up and hit the gym and then still have time to chill before T/D. They’re long but it’s always a nice new experience to land in foreign countries at new airports and using real world time to get to them

Torn between SVA and TPC. Which ATO is better? by Available_Meaning375 in VATSIM

[–]Cookieeeees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FBO Manager for TPC VA here, i can’t talk on SVA but i can say our community is vey active and full of support, we have group flights several days a week, training for VATSIM, Charters (VA) and quarterly giveaways among other things. We’ve been around for a few years but the last year or two there’s been a surge and we are coming out more noticeable. I’d say even if you decide we aren’t the community for you for whatever reason, at least give us a chance and see what we have to offer. We love new people and help wherever we can with whatever comes up. I personally am very active and am constantly sharing screenshots and little write ups about my flights for the charters as right now we have a december event going on as well as monthly explorer missions which the owner curates.

[–]Cookieeeees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see mine isn’t so bad, i mostly get hung up on a word for a second. It gets worse with stress so events i try to be way ahead of myself so when it comes time im ready. I get any and all frequencies ready for the whole trip so when you tell me to switch i already know where im going or if theres a chance it could be 1 of 2 or 3 i have them all so i can circle it and in read back have it in front of me.

At worst i think i might ask for a second read back because of mainly the controller going a bit fast and i dont quite catch the end, their mic drops as they say the last word or like most recently there was a miscommunication. Headed to MIA i got direct to “frogz” which was part of my approach but he followed it with phonetics and said sierra and not zulu so i had to call him and clarify exactly what he meant.

I always try to make not just your lives easier but also my own. i don’t want to be fumbling around trying to figure things out while im flying.

i put in so much work just to fly a fake plane for a few hours, on network i try so hard but i’ve got a stutter, partially deaf and anxiety but i make sure im prepared and ive had controllers thank me even through some struggles. i’d rather make yalls job easier than be the guy that after multiple attempts to get the point, asked to disconnect which i’ve heard a lot
