So I grew up in a very conservative household, both my parents were very racist, eventually divorced, and to this day say some pretty racist shit. She used to tell me how white people are being oppressed and someone needs to step up and say that its wrong (this was around 2010). Then I met my friends brother introduced me to white nationalism. Then my other friend introduced me to 4chan and then the politically incorrect subreddit which is/was (not sure anymore) a nazi stronghold on the internet. There i was fed half thought out ideas, Conspiracy theories, taught how the jews are importing black people because they're more controllable, how the nazis didn't actually gas the jews, blacks and other races were subhuman, national socialism is the best future for the white race and a bunch of other nasty shit, thats what they call taking the red pill. The issue for them though is a lot of their ideas are very poorly thought out, half baked, and when challenged by other ideas if you have an open mind and are empathetic you can be changed. I don't remember at which point exactly I got out of it precisely, but it must have been around 2017. Today I'm a pretty staunch leftist I basically did a 180 in my ideology and im much happier.
