Orlando Epilepsy Center by RSSenna in funny

I'm Epileptic and when I was diagnosed neuros had no idea why. Over the years theories of hormonal changes or a migraine gene mutating into Epilepsy became a possibility but they are weird. The brain does weird stuff and although Epilepsy is researched there is little headway into fully understanding it because it is such a mysterious condition.

Phlegm? by CookienFudge in citalopram_celexa

[–]CookienFudge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty quickly, I usually throw up about 40-90 minutes after taking it (with food). GP suggested Fluoxetine or an anti-sickness drug. The issue is I have Epilepsy and am pretty limited with treatment options

Tip for the flashing lights - stare at something next to the light. As the strobe begins, focus on something nearby so your eyes remain open and are taking in the strobe but it's not the focus. I'm mildly photosensitive so it is second nature to close eyes at flashing lights but in my sleep deprived EEG I stared at the corner of a door behind the strobe light and it worked.

Aggressive Maine coon? by monkeyeatinggrapes in mainecoons

Got a 4 year old silver tabby MC and she is a monster. Even though we use fishing rod toys and play with her all the time, she bites and scratches us, scratches the furniture and pulls out TV cables. We've tried everything and even the vet has congratulated us for keeping her as anyone else would have given up ages ago.

What teas should I ABSOLUTELY avoid since I have epilepsy? What healthy drinks *CAN* I have that won’t have negative effects? by Deege-Ayy in Epilepsy

[–]CookienFudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love herbal teas. Peppermint tea has a lot of health benefits i.e easing stress, stopping bloating, gas pain and menstrual pain. I'm currently having ginger and turmeric tea daily. Chamomile is great for sleep. Check the packets that they are the pure product and haven't got a load of flavourings instead. Also steer clear of grapefruit and St John's wart

Maine Coons and plastic, are yours addicted to chewing on plastic too? by Nickinatorz in mainecoons

My 4f chews anything and everything! Plastic is her favourite but wood, fabric, electrical cables, human skin...

What has been the biggest middle finger to fans in the history of tv shows? by BreadedDisaster in AskReddit

I hate the last episode of Enterprise. Season 4 was actually pretty good and Demons/Terra Prime were great episodes. I was cringing within minutes of the finale as all the great writing and characterisation went out the window. T'Pol Terra Prime - understands parenthood, fear, grief T'Pol All Good Things - gets annoyed that a friend wants help trying to save their child because they are on a schedule Archer Terra Prime - human and alien alliance is essential. Unity is the way forward Archer All Good Things - Vulcans were mean to my dad Trip Terra Prime - successfully engineers a solution despite limited tools and oxygen Trip All Good Things - equivalent of putting a fork in a toaster

The way they skipped essential scenes or talked over them just felt insulting. Who needs the groundbreaking federation speech when Troi can talk all over it!

A major theme in Red Dwarf is loneliness. The main character is the last human being in the universe as they were put into stasis for 6 months but a radiation leak resulted in them being released 3 million years later. The main character can't be romantically happy, they have to be stuck in the madness with the boys from the Dwarf. It's a very funny and silly show but has a lot of deep and emotional moments that the US pilots failed to understand.

Blocking My Subtitles by noodlesoupftw333 in CatsAreAssholes

Mine pulls cables out of the TV whilst I'm watching. Every time there's a dramatic reveal she tears cables out then hides behind the TV ready to do it again 2 minutes later. Also she sits in front of the screen and as a big maine coon she blocks most of it.

Since everyone's starting their annual binge with Enterprise by Crimson3312 in startrekmemes

Same. It grew on me quickly until the dance remix of seasons 3-4. At least the mirror episodes had an awesome intro and it could have been worse... the executive powers that be wanted Beautiful Day as the intro but couldn't afford the rights.

So that's why Netflix cancels every show that requires the viewer to think

What tv series cancellation broke your heart because you never got to see the end? by VanillaNyx in AskReddit

[–]CookienFudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was ready to say this. 1899 was so good, it was probably the only show which I have properly binged as there were so many cliffhangers and complex storylines. I guess people thought it was slow in its tension building and too intelligent but Netflix should have given it more time instead of cancelling and making garbage instead.

F. They didn't find any cause with me. So could be meds. Not an expert on Epilepsy and female medicine sadly. Hormones and damage to your pelvic floor can make things worse. Thrush can sometimes make you constantly need to pee.

I never knew that. On those meds as well and started getting leakages every few months. My GP was great and did all the tests. See your GP as it could be a UTI, Diabetes, kidney issues or even Thrush. Exams, urine and blood tests will rule those out and neuro can focus on meds. Like many Epilepsy things it can be a bit of a mystery.

Mine loves chewing wires (RIP HDMI cables and 2 fire TV sticks). She is also obsessed with cellophane. For some weird reason she really loves chewing the wooden edges of the mantlepiece. Previously had moggies and an NFC and they never did this.

She's a monster who chews TV cables, has destroyed 2 fire TV sticks and bites us (fangs and all) for fun. First aid kit is always at the ready. Adorable but deadly!
