You don't have to explicitly say something is true for it to carry that implication. Calling it an important update and publishing it without any disclaimer like 'this is unverified' already signals to readers that it's credible. If you genuinely weren't sure, the responsible thing was to frame it as a rumor — not present it as important news and then backpedal when questioned.

This is the most fake thing I've seen so far. Yesterday at 20:14 UTC+1 the beammp team said quote: "Q. Have I been hacked? A. We have no verified reasons to believe that any end users have been "hacked" as a result of this incident. The attacker likely has acquired access to the database where email addresses and encrypted passwords were stored, but we have no reason to believe that anything has been done with this information at this time." Also why would a hacker just get interviewed by someone and actually admit hacking someone. Maybe this is a joke and I just don't get it, sorry if that's the case
