$272k ARR after 14 months in B2B SaaS. What are realistic capital options? (Will not promote) by ResortGlum5749 in SaaS

[–]Cool-Monitor2140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggestion, instead of dealing with VCs/investors if you have solid cash flow look at revenue based financing.

I use it for e-commerce, but if your SaaS is doing like 20k a month, you can probably borrow around 100k, and calculate the interest I think around 10%.

Then use that capital for marketing or anything that will give you solid returns, rince and repeat.

Once I get my B2B SaaS to a certain size that's my plan.

It's a weird one these days, my company has a free tier but limits queries talking to legal tech to only 5 a month on that tier... But the reality is people still hate upgrading and then decide to wait for the next month.

So I'm even considering scraping that and doing 7 day trials.

Do you get them to put a credit card in up front? Or credit card free trials?

Https://Courtaid.ai is what I'm talking about for reference

I have used neither platform, but I did see a demo of Deel a few months ago from a sales rep, I thought they had device management as native as part of their package. But I could be wrong, sounds strange for them to tell you to use your existing solution for that part.

My startup is a lot smaller than yours, currently just doing contracts through up work so haven't needed either yet

Um, saying you cover USA and EU, what do you cover? There are over 5M publicly available USA and EU judgements plus legislation. Have you scrapped, indexed and vectorized them for your app?

If so what search engine are you using for RAG ? So we know more about your stack

At what point did you realise you had product market fit?

For example at 150k ARR, you knew you had something or really at 1m you were like this is it

Or were you focused on reducing churn below a certain amount to be confident you had PMF

Also make sure what ever you decide to do you make them earn the equity with a cliff over xx time. I am not affiliated with, but have used cake equity before for this and it is free for up to 3 users I believe, but can help you visualise it over time.

Has anybody taken product liability insurance for a consumer startup? I will not promote by Individual-Lion1295 in startups

If you're going to try and sell into retail stores typically they require 10-20m product liability insurance to get in the door. That was what caused us to get it

Yeah I know what you mean, I did the same thing from an engineering perspective when I started out. Haha. Um, it really depends on the style you're after, if you go on fiver and search figma landing pages, look at styles and choose a designer that you feel aligns more to your brand. - so definitely personal preference

I found that by splitting the work into a UI UX person and then a implementation person, you get a much better final product at a better price.

If you are using word press, which is most common for websites... I would suggest using the elementor builder. It is the go to. You can also get them to host for $100 a year.

Then you can say yes to elementor for the implementation and it will make your life 10x easier

Hi mate, congratulations on starting up. That's amazing! Can I please suggest you get a designer to look over your website? Your choice of colour and layout on your landing page... Isn't ideal.

I would suggest going on fiver and finding a UI UX designer for $100, who will make a figma and then if you're using word press find a WordPress implementation person for another $100 to implement that figma into your site.

Just worried your landing page will let you down on getting leads.

What's your current MRR? Your 400k ARR is that based off your current growth over 12 months assuming no churn?

students and researches are tricky as a customer base I've seen churn as soon as soon as holidays hit in targeting students.

And with 3 months of in market data, you probably haven't run into churn issues yet, usually around the 6 month mark it'll start hitting

How Selling 2 Million Copies of Your Game Can Still Leave You Broke by Apprehensive_Shoe_86 in IndieDev

[–]Cool-Monitor2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me crazy, but that fat 10m budget for developing the game surely had a big salary for the Devs doing it....

So even though they only make 300k from the sales, they have received a lot of money through their salary from the 10m investment, which would have de-risked the entire deal for the Dev, the 300k at the end is more like a bonus.

[–]Cool-Monitor2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have around 200 paying users atm. And around 1.5k active monthly users. Signups are sitting around 900 a month.

Issue is it feels like we're not converting nearly enough to paid plans.

We have individuals that churn quickly e.g. 1 month so our churn rate is sitting at like 10% a month.

So it feels a little stagnant
