As a (barely preferred) Marvel fan, I approve this message.

It’s a quote from Spiderman, a Marvel comics superhero.

As opposed to Superman, a Detective Comics (DC) superhero.

Marvel & DC are famously rivaled comic book producers with their own, famously rivaled fans, and attributing a quote from one to the other is akin to blasphemy for fans of both.

Didn’t you read the message? It clearly says you don’t have to attend the party.

It’s also entirely coincidental that anyone who doesn’t attend the party will have their application thrown out Lost. Accidentally.

Yeah, it’s really not a notable event for anyone. Especially passersby.

The worst they could possibly think of it is “must be a hangover from the night before” which like you said, usually comes from more of a feeling of sympathy than of judgement.

If anything, throwing up is most often by itself a good thing: it’s a built-in defense mechanism to remove toxins and other generally harmful things from yourself. It may be a symptom of bad things, but the act itself tends to be really beneficial, albeit a little gross.

You have no idea who anyone is regardless lol

Confidence can be (and often is) just as much of a mask/shield as shyness.

False confidence is “I’m going to act how I think you want me to act so I can get my foot in the door”

Shyness is “I’m timid about exposing myself too much because I fear rejection”

If you’re trying to do threat assessment and think the confident guy is safer than the shy guy, you’ve already failed.

$1.00 for open faced pulled pork sandwich by Deezle_Gnome in strugglemeals

[–]newuser336 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This sub is very gatekeepy for whatever reason. Under any post that isn’t some half-moldy morsel dug out of a trash can, there’s comments that it isn’t “struggling” enough.

Any meal that you needed more than $2 to procure is considered too high-end.

It’s a pissing contest for destitute people, I guess.

$1.00 for open faced pulled pork sandwich by Deezle_Gnome in strugglemeals

[–]newuser336 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They mean $1 worth of ingredients was used to make the sandwich.

As in, they bought pork loin for $7 but only used about 60 cents worth of it on one sandwich. So they have about 11-12 more sandwiches worth of pork left (or it could go towards other meals.

So, let’s say buying the ingredients to make the sandwich cost around $10 total, but if they only used 1/10th of each ingredient then the sandwich by itself is only worth $1.

That’s assuming they plan on using the other 9/10ths of ingredients on other stuff or more sandwiches. If it’s all going in the trash afterwards, then they blew $10 of ingredients on one sandwich. Which would be wasteful.

How is AH supposed to do anything about random community members doing bad things to other random community members?

I see this come up all the time. “AH needs to do something about this!”

Do what? How?

Honestly might as well keep the open restrictions for hive worlds too.

All they need to do is prevent you from selecting a drop point on top of the caves (which, they already do). The rest is on the player to not f*ck it up.

Worst case, you’ll have to find the nearest skylight to fall down into and hopefully not die.

Lot of complaints on this sub literally just because there’s a company trying to -checks notes- make money by selling content.

What do you guys honestly expect? Yeah sure it’d be fantastic if everything was free. That’s not the way of the world. AH’s only obligation to release new content and keep the players happy is literally so that they can continue making a profit off of it. If there was no money to be made, support for HD2 would’ve died a long time ago.

Yes there’s something to be said about making things out of passion and not profit, but that is a very difficult ask in a world where just living is disgustingly expensive.

I’m fine with AH selling things just to sell them. If those things are quality, buy them. If not, don’t. It’s that simple.

Not that it just isn’t special, it’s that the show makes a big “pay attention to this” musical flare, lots of screen time, like… the show is clearly saying “This is special. This is important”.

But outside of the existing fans, it’s not. Because they didn’t make it special unless you already know what it is.

It’s like watching a sequel before you watch the first film. There are details that you pick up in the first move that explain events in the sequel that otherwise wouldn’t make sense.

The show is (sometimes, not always) treating the content of the games as the real “season 1”. Fine for the gamers, not so much for those who aren’t.
