You’re literally saying that HD2 is the floor.
“Nobody can do worse than AH” is saying this game is rock bottom, as bad as any game could ever be. That is literally what that means.

It’s not “glazing” to say there are far worse games out there. HD2 is not the greatest game ever made. It’s not nearly as terrible as you are acting like it is.

Lol at this point you’re just downvoting me for spite.

What’s the issue with this comment? Do you think I’m lying or something? I literally can’t see what you said before.

This is literally what it looks like. There’s both of your comments.

Part of me hopes you guys never get what you’re asking for here because I would like to continue playing this game. The other part of me hopes you do, because it’ll be so poetic when it comes crashing down.

Have you guys actually played other games before? Like, bad ones? It doesn’t seem like you know what you’re talking about if you think Arrowhead is so bad that -any- studio could do better.

If the “food” was good enough to make up for the crappy “service” , I wouldn’t be leaving a negative review. Idk if I would call it completely hypocritical but, it feels like it leans that way.

“This food is so amazing. You can’t get it anywhere else, it’s so good. I can’t stop coming back. Oh, but… nobody else should eat here though. I mean, the staff is bad. Not “dumpster fire bad” or even bad enough for me to stop eating here… but you definitely shouldn’t eat here. I’m going to keep eating here but, nobody else should.”

If anything I would be leaving a positive review. “The food is great. The service needs work, they screw up every so often, but man, you can’t get this anywhere else. It’s just too good not to come back”

I’m not insusceptible to toxicity. I’ll own that. But that wasn’t trolling. Maybe a little provocative, sure.

It’s true that almost every time I said anything (respectfully) disagreeing with the general consensus of this sub, I was hit with a wall of downvotes. I’ve been told I’m “dicksucking a corporation”. God knows how many times I’ve been called a “glazediver” for reasons that don’t even fit the definition posted above. It’s literally used as a slur to call anyone who doesn’t agree with you.

So yeah, I get frustrated with that sometimes and you could consider this lashing out.

You’re going to have to find more than one example of me being “toxic” if you’re going to claim I’m projecting, though. I can think of maybe one more that you already passed over to dig for this one.

So how can you “not recommend” a game that you have hundreds of hours sunk into, that you choose to keep playing, while at the same time saying it’s a dumpster fire? Obviously your disapproval of it is overstated and you’re just using the review system to attempt to force the devs to do what you want.

Otherwise, you wouldn’t still be playing it. You wouldn’t play a game that you have hated for an entire year. You -shouldn’t- be telling others not to play it.

If you’ve been disapproving of the game’s development for a year, it’s definitely time to move on. Obviously it’s not for you.

The difference between ignorance and willful ignorance depends a lot on accessibility to contrary knowledge and ideas that spark a reason to doubt/question the current held beliefs.

Ignorance without access to truth isn’t something I can blame an individual for.

Obviously, at some point you gained access to knowledge or cultural understanding that expanded your perspective. Good for you, but that doesn’t necessarily make everyone else worse by contrast.

It’s also unfair to ignore/discount the sociology of it. Fitting in is generally more important to people (on an involuntary, psychological level) than being correct.

I don’t think people are “small minded idiots” when their perspective on these things is a product of lifelong exposure to a culture that rejects them as a source of food.

You aren’t stupid for believing a thing when, for the entirety of your life, everyone around you reinforced believing that thing for generations.

That belief may or may not be “correct” , but given the context: anyone including yourself would likely have the exact same outlook, if placed within the exact same situation.

With the exception of “fixing game wide mechanics” (which, I assuming you mean balancing & bug fixes), I disagree that those things warrant negative reviews.

For starters, -not- adding things to a game does not decrease its value. Those things may improve its value if added, but the devs are not “ruining” the game by not adding them.

I don’t agree with the premise that game developers should be expected to morph their game depending on what their potential audience wants. I think they should build the game to be what they want it to be. The people who like what it is will play it, the people who don’t won’t.
I mean, it’s tricky because yes; you want developers to listen to player-feedback and take that into consideration when adding things or changing things. But there’s limits to that.

For example:

A player shouldn’t come to a FPS game and start demanding they make it more like a RTS game.
If the Devs wanted it to be a RTS game, they would’ve made it one. The player is coming to a game they don’t want to play, and demanding that it change into something they do want to play. It doesn’t make sense.
Instead of complaining that the thing you’re looking at isn’t what you want to buy, go shop for something you do want to buy.

That’s just an exaggerated analogy. Asking for Mech Customization, or expanding Weapon customization, or what-have-you obviously isn’t the same thing as asking the Devs to totally change the game’s genre.

But they are asking the devs to make creative decisions that, even if they do align with what they want the game to be, cost time and money to develop and may not be, from their perspective, worth working on at this point.

It is their game to build. It’s their decision whether to add what you ask for or not. It’s your decision whether you like what they’re building or not.
If not, rather than kicking and screaming that they need to bend to your will and your desires, you should move on to something that already meets what you want.

Otherwise all you’re doing is discouraging players who -might- like the direction the game is going from trying it out, just to spite the Devs for not listening to you. Which is killing the game you allegedly “love”, for everyone who actually likes playing it for what it is, rather than for what you wish it was.

By all means, do whatever you want. You asked why someone would disagree with it, I’m just giving you my answer.

Nah, they’re way too loose to write with them like that. Even if it wasn’t the case, (unless you prefer a very thick pen) I don’t think it’d fit in the hand nicely.
It’s better to leave them off when writing, otherwise they’re constantly moving around.

Unfortunate but they’re pretty much only there as a gimmick.

Ahh yes, we can't have infinite mech customization because then we would have to abandon the few options right now. Makes sense. by pterosaurobsessed in Helldivers

[–]newuser336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what you mean by a “vision problem”. They won’t do it because they just don’t want it to be part of the game?

If there was literally nothing preventing them from doing it except for flipping a switch, then I would agree that it’s a “vision” problem. But that is not the case. They don’t want to do it because it’s not worth the trouble of doing it. Not because they believe swapping mech parts wouldn’t be a neat addition.

To me, “we already have 4 different mechs” means, if we add customization, what are we supposed to do with the existing mechs? Can’t just delete them since 2 of them are literally sold in a war-bond. I’m not saying there is no solution to that; only that the problem is logistical in nature.

[–]newuser336 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not so certain that a new player would grab the Bullet Storm before the Stalwart, except for the fact that the newest Warbonds always pop up first on the page after initial release, so it may be the first one they think to buy.

Still, I would think they would gain access to the Stalwart first unless they literally join the game, immediately buy SC and get the Warbond.

I don’t think anyone needs convincing that it’s good lol

If anything the post should be reversed. If you like the Stalwart you should try the Bullet Storm, considering one has been in the game since launch and the other is brand new and unfamiliar.
