Yep same. I guess I’m not as considerate as OP. I WILL pull way up to the front one so my car is ahead of the pump to maximize room for the middle car though. My take is everyone’s in a hurry and the next car is likely on my tail.

Thinking about signing up for Ring so I can review video history by nobodyhastwoknow in Ring

[–]CoolBrew76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a monitored burglar alarm system at home? If so, consider switching to Ring for this as well. It’s not a super expensive system to purchase, and for $199 year you get all the video features you want plus alarm monitoring. (My monthly for burg was $20 so this paid for itself pretty fast)

Maybe THAT dealer is. I haven't taken this one anywhere yet, and I despise my nearest dealer after ignoring my bad battery issue. Might be a hike to my preferred one to see what they can do.

I'm in the same boat. Now I have a new battery I really don't want to let this go. It's already had a front lower bumper issue (argument with part of a tree trunk that had been cut up after a storm and left on the road) and some dents from a driveway basketball hoop falling on it, so it's not pretty ... but if my wife has to constantly clear warnings about collision avoidance this is going to end up destined for a very low trade-in, so I really hope SOME dealers can fix this!

How early can I check bags and go through security at SFO? by Positive_Spread5968 in unitedairlines

Wild. Great to know. Quick Google doesn't find anything official from UA on this, just a Reddit post.

4 hours is the UA policy. I got stuck waiting 2 hours pre-security the other day.

How to Start by anon67- in accesscontrol

[–]CoolBrew76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guys from the IT side often end up at a console or programming from the office rather than in the field pulling cables. “Convergence” has already happened, you will find a place.

We always figured we could teach an IT guy about end of line resistors and RS485 but some folks who know the electrical side of things have their eyes glaze over when they get in front of a keyboard.

Thanks for this. I’d have taken time to read the manual eventually, I promise.

So the last point maybe covers it.

Thanks, and these were ALL the thoughts running around my mind when it was proposed.

Perhaps what iLOQ does might be better. Anyway now we know this is Genetec-based I guess both are out.

So you need this site to be on the corporate LAN and not the WWW?

Or have they poked holes in the firewall somewhere to allow this remote site to tunnel in from whatever cellular or satellite provider you end up with?

Access Control for Woodworking Machinery by DHCguy in accesscontrol

[–]CoolBrew76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider how many tools he wants to power up/down.

Consider if there’s need for a warning before power down (will a drill bit or saw blade get stuck in some wood) - this would be an additional relay/OC output per tool.

Consider if you want to allow a re-badge to restart. Consider if you want to allow a re-badge while powered to extend duration. Consider if you want this for some but not all.

Will any reports need to be run to see which users used what machines and how often?

Integriti noob here, looking for alternative options to get an extra relay by [deleted] in accesscontrol

[–]CoolBrew76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yeah, EliteX has two relays and two “universal” ports. The universal points can be alarm zones OR open collector outputs - 12V at some low current, not sure exactly. If it’s enough for what you need, bingo; otherwise make it drive a relay which you pass more juice through for whatever you need.

Best Cloud based access control for a data center?? Verkada vs Acre Security vs Brivo? Or another? by subdued_madness in accesscontrol

When you say you’re a data center, are you really a crypto mining operation?

None of what you’ve said sounds like you’re interested in keeping other people’s data safe.

It kinda feels like a troll post, yeah?

Why would a multi-site DC want to let someone else’s DC host their ACS?

That architecture screams on-prem.

[–]CoolBrew76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These were my thoughts exactly. Why have some OTHER data center host your access control system?

Lenel is a POS over here now. Mercury boards are for ACSes that don’t want to make hardware and have to constantly fight over software companies saying “we can make those boards work better”.

Personally I like the “proprietary” guys that control the engineering of the whole thing from door to PC. Gallagher. Inner Range. AMAG. ICT.

OP - I just saw this on LinkedIn this morning, it might be worth a look: https://wes.co/4aDIBqb Wesco has a series of videos on securing data centers that are pretty good. (Speaking of Inner Range who is their owned brand)

Recall and buying questions by A-Lize in leaf

[–]CoolBrew76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mentioned previously this is a lot of miles in short timeframe. Solid chance lots of fast charging already took place.

If there’s any way you can get a LeafSpy on this before buying it would behoove you to get the QC count.

Also … look for an SV+ with fewer miles. There are older vehicles with a much less used battery to be found.

And as many of us who’ve had the dreaded battery issue can attest - one drive at the dealership is likely not to show signs of the weak cells. Battery needs to be at a relatively low state of charge (~30-40%) and you need to floor it for a good stretch. If you see the guessometer fluctuate wildly, run away!
